- Two sleepers, minimal disturbance: At 67.5cm each for two people sharing, you're near your partner, so the independent springs quietly absorbing their movement counts for more in this size than any other.
- Fits the typical UK bedroom: We suggest allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m, which most British bedrooms manage while still leaving room for a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
- Bedside tables on both sides: In a room around 3m x 3m, the 135cm width usually leaves space for a table each side, something a UK king often takes away.
- Cooling where bodies share heat: Two people warm a bed faster than one, so the cooling yarn in the cover has more useful work to do in a shared UK double.
- Easy to dress cheaply: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm duvet are sold everywhere at every price point, handy if you're kitting out a first home.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the traditional couples' size without giving a whole room over to it, or you sleep alone and like space to stretch, perhaps with a dog or cat claiming a corner. It also makes sense for a guest room that regularly hosts visiting couples, since it's the size most people already know how to sleep in.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both like space, or one of you is a restless sleeper, and your room comfortably exceeds 2.7m x 2.9m. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double.

Is the Cool Pocket 2000 in a UK double big enough for two adults?
Yes, for most couples. You get 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and with 2,000 pocket springs across the bed, each spring moves independently, so a partner turning over is felt less at close quarters. Broad or tall sleepers may prefer the UK king, which is 15cm wider and 10cm longer.
What room size do I need for the Cool Pocket 2000 double?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. The mattress itself is 135 x 190cm, or 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, so in an average British bedroom you should still fit a wardrobe, drawers and a bedside table on each side.
Should I buy the Cool Pocket 2000 in a UK double or a UK king?
It comes down to your room. The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king. If your room only just clears that, the UK double leaves walking space and storage intact, which most people value more than the extra width.
Is the Cool Pocket 2000 double a good choice for a guest room?
It's a sensible one. A UK double suits visiting couples and solo guests alike, bedding for it is cheap and widely stocked, and the pocket spring build means guests of different weights each get support where they lie rather than rolling towards the middle.
Where can I buy the Cool Pocket 2000 in a UK double?
Stock in each size changes, so compare the retailers listed on this page; the prices shown here are updated as retailers change them. The UK double sits between the UK single and the UK king in the range, so if it's unavailable, one of those sizes may be an alternative worth weighing up.
