Layer Details
Comfort foam
A premium layer of comfort foam that helps relieve pressure. For you, that means a little cushioning over the springs, which matters on a firm mattress.
HD endurance foam
A layer of HD endurance foam sits at the bottom of the mattress. It strengthens the base and helps the mattress stay stable and keep its support over time.
Layer details from mattressman.co.uk product page, October 2026.
- Width that works with the springs: At 15cm wider than the UK double, plus springs that compress individually, one of you turning over registers far less on the other side.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: The UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double at 200cm, which means anyone approaching six foot stops sleeping with their feet at the edge.
- Different schedules, less disruption: If one of you gets up hours before the other, the pocket spring build in this width lets the early riser slip out with minimal disturbance.
- Cooling yarn across a wider surface: The cooling yarn finish helps warm sleepers, and the extra width means you can also move to a cooler patch of mattress on stuffy nights.
- Room for a dog with a routine: If a pet claims the foot of the bed most nights, the UK king absorbs that lost space in a way a double simply can't.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel like a negotiation, one of you is tall enough to appreciate the extra 10cm of length, or you keep different hours and want your partner's alarm-clock exit to go unnoticed. Allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m of floor space, with more if you want walkway room around wardrobes.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is a squeeze below our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m, or you mostly sleep alone. We'd recommend the Cool Pocket 2000 in a UK double instead, which fits comfortably in a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Cool Pocket 2000 in a UK king big enough for a couple?
Comfortably, for most. You get 75cm each for two people sharing, and because the 2,000 pocket springs respond independently, that width translates into genuinely undisturbed sleep rather than simply more mattress. If one of you sprawls, or a dog regularly joins you, the UK super king adds another 30cm of width.
Will the UK king Cool Pocket 2000 fit in my bedroom?
The mattress measures 150 x 200cm, or 5ft x 6ft 6in. We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m so you can open drawers and walk round both sides. New build master bedrooms often look generous empty, then shrink once wardrobes go in, so measure the usable floor rather than the room itself.
Is the Cool Pocket 2000 UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm long, the UK king gives 10cm more length than the UK double, which is the difference between heels on the mattress and heels hanging off it. For anyone around or above six foot, that extra length is often the real reason to size up, more so than the width.
Should I choose the UK king or the UK super king in this mattress?
The UK king is 30cm narrower than the UK super king; both are the same length. If your room meets our suggested 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king and you want maximum personal space, size up. If floor space is tighter, the UK king is the more practical choice for most couples.
Does a king size reduce partner disturbance more than a double?
With this mattress, yes, and for two reasons. The pocket spring construction isolates movement wherever a spring isn't compressed, and the UK king being 15cm wider than the UK double means fewer springs are shared between you in the first place. Restless sleepers and mismatched schedules both benefit from that combination.
