Knitted Cover
A soft knitted cover that is breathable, which means heat can escape rather than gathering at the surface. It helps keep you at an even temperature all night.
Cool Gel Memory Foam
A thick layer of cool gel-infused memory foam that gives you the contouring and pressure relief of standard memory foam. The gel infusion helps maintain optimum body temperature, so you sink in without overheating.
Pocket Springs
The foundation is over 800 individually wrapped pocket springs, each moving independently. That means bespoke, targeted support for each part of your body rather than a one-size response.
Layer details from mattressnextday.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Space that reduces disturbance: With 75cm each for two people sharing, plus springs that respond individually, an early alarm on one side is less likely to travel across the bed.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK Single, UK Small Double and UK Double, welcome news for anyone approaching six foot.
- Cooling that suits shared beds: Two bodies generate more heat than one, so the gel-infused memory foam and breathable knitted cover matter most at this size.
- A middle ground on room size: The UK king is 30cm narrower than the UK super king, so it fits bedrooms where the largest size simply won't.
- Medium firm across the full width: The consistent medium firm feel means both partners get the same support, whichever side of the 150cm width they sleep on.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK double has started to feel cramped, one of you gets up hours before the other and you'd rather not feel it, or someone in the bed is approaching six foot and keeps finding their feet at the edge. Allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m of bedroom for a UK king to work comfortably.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king. In that case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and still gives couples a workable shared bed.

Is the Coolflex Hybrid ICE UK king big enough for a couple?
Yes, comfortably. At 150 x 200cm you get 75cm each for two people sharing, and the 800-plus individually wrapped pocket springs respond to each of you separately, so support adjusts to your own shoulders and hips rather than to whoever is heavier. Restless partners and early risers are the classic reasons couples size up to a UK king.
What room size do I need for the Coolflex Hybrid ICE in a UK king?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m, which leaves room to walk round the bed and open drawers without shuffling sideways. That's our guidance rather than the manufacturer's. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they first appear once wardrobes go in, so measure the usable floor space, not the room on the plan.
Is the UK king Coolflex Hybrid ICE long enough for tall sleepers?
At 200cm long, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK Double, and for many buyers that length is the real reason to upgrade rather than the width. If one of you is over six foot, it's the difference between feet hanging off the end and lying flat. The UK super king is the same length, so going bigger adds width only.
Should I get the Coolflex Hybrid ICE in a king or a super king?
The UK king is 30cm narrower than the UK super king, and the two are the same length. If your room offers at least 3m x 2.9m and you want maximum personal space, perhaps with a dog claiming its usual patch, the UK super king is tempting. For most couples the UK king balances space against room demands better.
