Memory foam
A 3cm layer of pressure-relieving memory foam sits on top, which means it moulds to your shape and cushions pressure points like hips and shoulders. It is a relatively thin comfort layer, so expect gentle contouring rather than a deep sink-in feel.
Ecocell® foam core
Beneath that is a 14cm Ecocell® foam core providing responsive support while helping air circulate through the mattress. In practice, that means the mattress should recover its shape quickly and feel a little cooler than dense, closed foams.
Layer details from dormeo.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Slim enough for bunks and mid sleepers: At 17cm deep, it sits low enough that safety rails on most bunk and cabin frames stay usable, which many deeper mattresses cannot manage.
- Frees up floor space in a child's room: At 3ft wide, it leaves room for a desk, wardrobe and toy storage where a wider bed would crowd everything out.
- Gentle contouring for lighter bodies: The 3cm memory foam layer suits children, teens and lighter adults, who are less likely to press through to the firmer Ecocell® core.
- A sensible spare room choice: In a study that doubles as guest space, a 90cm wide mattress keeps the desk usable while still sleeping visitors comfortably.
- Cheap, easy bedding: Standard single sheets and a 135 x 200cm single duvet fit, and both are the most widely stocked and affordable bedding of any UK size.
This size suits you if...
You're buying for a child's or teenager's room where the bed shares space with a desk and storage, you need a mattress shallow enough for a bunk, cabin or mid-sleeper frame, or you're kitting out a spare room or student flat where the frame is provided and a low-cost single is all that's needed.
Consider another size if...
You're an adult who shares the bed, or you find 90cm restrictive as a solo sleeper. We'd recommend the UK double instead: it's 45cm wider than the UK single, the same length, and needs a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Dormeo Fresh Plus single suitable for a bunk bed?
It's a strong candidate. At 17cm deep, the UK single sits lower than many mattresses, so bunk and mid-sleeper safety rails should still stand well above the sleeping surface. Check your frame's maximum mattress depth before ordering, but few single mattresses at this depth cause rail problems.
What room size do I need for the Dormeo Fresh Plus in a UK single?
We suggest at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space. That allows the 90 x 190cm mattress plus room to walk around and open drawers or wardrobe doors. In a child's room competing with a desk and toy storage, the single's 3ft width is what keeps the layout workable.
Is the UK single Dormeo Fresh Plus big enough for an adult?
For a lighter solo adult, yes, and the thinner comfort layer actually suits lighter bodies. If you're heavier or used to spreading out, 90cm can feel narrow, and the 17cm depth offers less material to press into. Sizing up to the UK double gives you 45cm more width at the same length.
What bedding fits the Dormeo Fresh Plus single?
Standard UK single fitted sheets, made for a 90 x 190cm mattress, fit without adjustment, and a single duvet at 135 x 200cm covers it comfortably. Because the mattress is a fairly slim 17cm, regular-depth fitted sheets tuck under easily; you won't need the extra-deep versions some mattresses require.
Can I put two Dormeo Fresh Plus singles in one room?
Often, yes. Two 90cm wide singles side by side with a walkway between them is a common setup for siblings sharing or a guest room that sleeps two visitors. Measure your room against roughly double our 2.1m x 2.8m single-bed guidance, keeping a clear path between the beds.
