Layer Details
- PolarLuxe™ ultra cooling cover. An ultra cooling cover that feels instantly cool and refreshing when you first lie down. It's the first line of defence for hot sleepers.
- Diamond Cool™ foam layer. Visco-elastic foam infused with graphite particles, which conduct excess heat away from your body. In practice, that means less of the heat build-up memory foam is known for.
- HRXComfort™ foam layer. A comfort foam that lets you snuggle in without sinking down. You get cushioning at the surface while staying reasonably easy to move around on.
- AeroFlex™ pocket springs. Individually pocketed springs that distribute your weight evenly, giving balanced support with pressure relief. They also add the responsiveness that all-foam mattresses can lack.
- HRXSupport™ foam layer. A precision-engineered base foam that Emma guarantees will keep its shape for 10 years. This is what stops the mattress sagging over time.
- Anti-slip bottom cover. A grippy underside that keeps the mattress in place on your bed frame all night. A small detail, but useful on slatted or divan bases.

- Fits compact rooms: At 90cm wide it leaves floor space free in box rooms, loft conversions and children's bedrooms where the bed competes with a desk and wardrobe.
- Cooling for one warm sleeper: The PolarLuxe cover and graphite-infused Diamond Cool foam draw heat away, useful for teenagers who run hot or a stuffy attic bedroom.
- A softer feel that suits lighter bodies: The medium soft feel works well at this size, since children, teens and lighter adults settle into the comfort layers rather than perching on top.
- Guest-ready without compromise: In a spare room that doubles as an office, occasional guests get pocket-sprung support rather than the thin foam slab guest beds often carry.
- Stays put on any base: The anti-slip bottom cover grips slatted frames and divans, handy on the lighter frames singles often sit on.
- Cheap, easy bedding: Standard single sheets and a 135 x 200cm duvet fit, the most widely stocked and affordable bedding of any UK size.
This size suits you if...
You're buying for a child or teenager and want a mattress that will still support them as they grow, you sleep alone and your room can't take anything wider than 90cm, or you're setting up a spare room with a proper mattress for the few nights a year guests stay.
Consider another size if...
You're an adult who sleeps alone but likes to spread out, or you occasionally share the bed. The UK double gives you 45cm more width, and we'd recommend it if your room allows.

Will the Emma Diamond Hybrid Deluxe UK single fit a bunk bed or mid sleeper?
The 90 x 190cm footprint matches standard bunk and mid-sleeper frames, but the depth is the thing to check. At 29cm this is a deep mattress, and raised frames set a maximum mattress depth so the guard rail stays high enough to be safe. Check your frame's stated limit against 29cm before buying.
What room size do I need for a UK single Emma Diamond Hybrid Deluxe?
We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space. That gives you room to walk around the bed and open drawers or wardrobe doors. In a child's room sharing space with toy storage and a desk, the 90cm width is what keeps everything workable.
Is the UK single Emma Diamond Hybrid Deluxe good for a child or teenager?
Yes, with one caveat. The medium soft feel suits lighter bodies well, and the cooling layers help teens who sleep warm. The caveat is price: this sits at the higher end for a child's mattress, so it makes most sense if you want something that lasts through the teenage years.
Can two Emma Diamond Hybrid Deluxe singles work in a shared or guest room?
Yes. Two UK singles side by side is a sensible setup for siblings sharing a room, or a guest room deliberately arranged as two beds. Each is 90cm wide, so measure your room with a walkway between them in mind. Both sleepers get their own springs, so movement doesn't transfer across.
How much narrower is the UK single than the UK double?
The UK single is 45cm narrower than the UK double, at 90cm wide against 135cm. It's also 30cm narrower than the UK small double. For one child, teen or adult in a compact room the UK single is the practical choice; if the sleeper is a broad-shouldered adult, that extra width may be worth having.
