Layer Details
Wool
A soft wool top layer that's naturally breathable, which means air can move freely rather than trapping heat around you. Wool also wicks moisture, a quiet advantage on warmer nights.
Natural fillings blend
Layers of wool and hemp blended with fibres, giving a soft, springy feel underneath you. These natural fillings help regulate temperature through the night.
HD mini springs
1700 of Harrison Spinks' own HD mini springs sit above the main unit, flexing to mould to your body's shape. In practice this means more precise, three-dimensional support around shoulders and hips.
Pocket Springs
The base unit is 2750 pocket springs, each moving independently, so the mattress adapts to your body rather than sagging as one piece. Independent movement also reduces the ripple you feel when a partner shifts.

- Room to share without crowding the bedroom: At 135cm wide, it suits rooms where a UK king would leave little walking space, which matters in older terraces and compact new builds alike.
- 67.5cm each for two people sharing: Two sleepers get 67.5cm each, and the independent pocket springs reduce the ripple when one of you turns over.
- Firm support for a shared bed: The firm feel resists the roll-together dip that softer shared mattresses can develop, helpful when two people of different weights share every night.
- Wool and hemp for two warm bodies: Natural fibres breathe better than synthetic foams, which counts for more in a double, where two people generate more heat than one.
- Easy to dress and to plan around: Standard double sheets and a 200 x 200cm duvet fit, stocked everywhere at every price, so bedding costs stay predictable.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and your room won't comfortably take anything wider, or you're furnishing a guest room where visiting couples need a proper shared bed. It also suits a solo sleeper who likes space to stretch out, or shares with a dog who has claimed a corner. Allow at least 2.6m x 2.8m of floor space and the UK double sits well in most British bedrooms.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both like room to spread, or one of you is a restless sleeper. The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, so we'd recommend the UK king if your room allows at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Bordley Natural 2750 in a UK double big enough for a couple?
Yes, for most couples. You get 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and the 2750 pocket springs move independently, so you feel less of your partner's movement than the width alone suggests. If either of you is tall or sleeps sprawled, the extra 15cm of width and 10cm of length on the UK king may be a better fit.
What are the dimensions of the UK double Bordley Natural 2750?
It measures 135 x 190cm, which is 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in. That is the standard UK double footprint, so any UK double bed frame, sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet will fit without hunting for special sizes.
What room size do I need for this mattress in a UK double?
We suggest allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m, which leaves enough space to walk around the bed and open drawers. If you want bedside tables on both sides plus a wardrobe, something closer to 3m x 3m is the comfortable norm. These are our own guidelines rather than the manufacturer's.
Should I get the Bordley Natural 2750 in a UK double or a UK king?
It comes down to your room. The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, and for the UK king we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m of floor space. Couples with the room usually appreciate the extra width; in a smaller bedroom the UK double keeps the space usable.
Is a UK double a sensible choice for a guest room?
It's the classic guest room size, because it accommodates visiting couples as well as solo guests without dominating the room. The firm feel is a matter of taste, though occasional use is more forgiving than nightly use. The natural wool fillings also mean the bed won't feel clammy for guests unused to it.
