Layer Details
- Wool. A soft wool top layer that's naturally breathable, which means air can move freely rather than trapping heat around you. Wool also wicks moisture, a quiet advantage on warmer nights.
- Natural fillings blend. Layers of wool and hemp blended with fibres, giving a soft, springy feel underneath you. These natural fillings help regulate temperature through the night.
- HD mini springs. 1700 of Harrison Spinks' own HD mini springs sit above the main unit, flexing to mould to your body's shape. In practice this means more precise, three-dimensional support around shoulders and hips.
- Pocket Springs. The base unit is 2750 pocket springs, each moving independently, so the mattress adapts to your body rather than sagging as one piece. Independent movement also reduces the ripple you feel when a partner shifts.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Real space for two: At 75cm each for two people sharing, you can turn over without negotiating, useful on a firm mattress that holds you where you sleep.
- Less partner disturbance: The 2750 independent pocket springs limit ripple across a 150cm width, so an early riser slipping out at six is less likely to wake you.
- Length for taller sleepers: The UK king's 200cm length is 10cm longer than the UK double, which stops feet hanging off the end for anyone approaching six foot.
- Support that stays even: The firm feel and 1700 HD mini springs keep the surface consistent edge to edge, helpful when pregnancy or recovery has you shifting position through the night.
- Cooler across a bigger surface: Wool and hemp fillings breathe, and with 75cm each for two people sharing you're less likely to overheat against a partner.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double leaves you shoulder to shoulder, especially on a firmer surface where you can't sink away from each other. Or one of you keeps different hours and you want the pocket springs' motion isolation working across a proper width. Or someone in the bed is tall enough that the 200cm length is the real reason for upgrading.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and keeps the same firm support.

Is a UK king big enough for a couple on a firm mattress?
Yes, comfortably for most. The UK king gives 75cm each for two people sharing, and because the Bordley Natural 2750 is firm, you stay on your own side rather than drifting into a dip in the middle. Lightweight side sleepers may still find the surface a little unyielding, but that's the feel, not the size.
Will the Bordley Natural 2750 in a UK king reduce partner disturbance?
The mattress uses 2750 pocket springs that move independently, plus 1700 HD mini springs, so movement on one side doesn't travel far. Spread across the UK king's 150cm width, with 75cm each for two people sharing, one partner getting up early is far less likely to disturb the other than on a narrower size.
What room size do I need for a king size Bordley Natural 2750?
We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king. That's our own guidance, and it's a minimum: in a new build master bedroom, fitted wardrobes and a door swing can eat into floor space quickly, so measure the usable area rather than the room on the plan.
Is the UK king long enough for a tall sleeper?
At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which is often the difference between feet on the mattress and feet hanging off it. If one of you is over six foot, that extra length is arguably the bigger reason to size up, with the added width a bonus.
