- Wool. Harrison Spinks' finest natural wool forms the sleeping surface, which means better temperature regulation: cooler in summer, snug when it turns cold. It's a naturally breathable start to the mattress.
- Cotton. Natural cotton fibres sit beneath the wool, helping regulate body temperature and wick away moisture. In practice that means a fresher, drier sleeping surface through the night.
- Hemp. Hemp is an eco-friendly fibre that's naturally breathable and durable. It acts as a natural insulator, helping keep the mattress cool and fresh over time.
- Pocket Springs. 2750 pocket springs provide flexible support, each moving independently of its neighbours. That reduces motion transfer, so you feel less of a partner's movement.
- HD Mini Springs. 1700 lightweight HD mini springs respond individually to pressure, dispersing your body weight for what the maker describes as a three-dimensional support feeling. You should notice more precise contouring around hips and shoulders.

- A shared size that fits real rooms: At 135 x 190cm the UK double leaves space for wardrobes and drawers in bedrooms where a UK king would dominate, and we suggest allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m.
- Motion transfer matters more at this width: With 67.5cm each for two people sharing, you'll feel closer to your partner, so the independent pocket springs that soak up movement do genuine work here.
- Natural fillings across a shared surface: Wool regulates temperature and cotton wicks moisture, which helps when two bodies are warming a 135cm-wide mattress through the night.
- Room for bedside tables on both sides: In most double bedrooms this footprint still allows a table each side, something the UK king often rules out.
- Easy to dress: Standard double sheets and a 200 x 200cm duvet are stocked everywhere, at every price point, which helps if you're furnishing a whole home at once.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and your room sits around our suggested 2.6m x 2.8m minimum, or you sleep alone and want space to stretch out, perhaps with a dog or cat claiming a corner. It also suits a guest room that hosts visiting couples, where natural fillings feel like a kind welcome without buying bigger than the room allows.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both move about at night and 67.5cm each feels tight. If the room offers at least 2.7m x 2.9m, we'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double.

Is the Bordley Natural 2750 in a UK double big enough for two adults?
It's the traditional shared size at 135 x 190cm, giving 67.5cm each for two people sharing. That's comfortable for most couples, helped here by pocket springs that move independently so you feel less of a partner turning over. Broad-shouldered pairs, or anyone who sprawls, may prefer the extra 15cm of width a UK king offers.
Will the UK double Bordley Natural 2750 fit a small bedroom with bedside tables?
Usually, yes. We suggest allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, and in most rooms of that size you can still fit a slim table on each side of the bed. Measure the wall the bed will sit against and check you're left with walking space at the foot before committing.
Should I buy the Bordley Natural 2750 in a UK double or size up to a UK king?
It comes down to your room. The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king. If your bedroom clears that comfortably, sizing up gives a couple noticeably more space; if it doesn't, the UK double keeps the room usable.
Is a UK double a good size for a guest room mattress?
It's the sensible guest room choice, since it accommodates visiting couples as well as solo guests without swallowing the room. The natural wool and cotton fillings also mean guests of different temperature preferences should both sleep comfortably, and double bedding is cheap and easy to find, which helps for a room used only occasionally.
Will the UK double Bordley Natural 2750 get up narrow stairs?
A UK double measures 135 x 190cm, or 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, and as a pocket spring mattress it arrives full size rather than rolled in a box. Measure any turning stairs, tight landings and door frames along the route before ordering, particularly in older terraces where staircases can be narrow and angled.
