Layer Details
Pillow top
A cloud-like pillow top with built-in micro springs, which means a plush surface feel that keeps its shape rather than flattening the way a fibre-only topper can.
Natural fillings
Generous layers of 100% natural silk, cashmere, mohair, cotton, hemp, flax and British wool. Natural fibres breathe better than foam, so you're less likely to overheat.
Silk layer
Silk is the strongest natural fibre and is prized for moisture absorption and temperature regulation. In practice, that means a drier, more even sleeping temperature through the night.
Cashmere layer
Soft cashmere, taken as a byproduct from the fashion industry, known for its softness and insulation. It adds warmth in winter without trapping heat in summer.
British wool layer
Harrison Spinks has partnered with British Wool, so the wool is fully traceable from farm to factory. Wool also wicks moisture, helping regulate temperature.
Pocket springs
17,268 responsive springs across seven layers of high-density micro, Posturfil and Cortec™ pocket springs. Each spring moves independently, which means less partner disturbance and support that follows your body's contours.
Base layer
A chemical-free surface made from a wool and viscose blend. A reassuring detail if you'd rather avoid chemically treated materials next to your skin.

- A shared size that fits most rooms: At 135 x 190cm, the UK double sits comfortably in bedrooms where a UK king would leave little floor to spare.
- 67.5cm of width each: Two people sharing get 67.5cm each, and because each of the 17,268 pocket springs moves independently, your partner turning over is less likely to wake you.
- Space left for bedside tables: Allow at least 2.6m x 2.8m and you should still fit tables on both sides, which matters more than most buyers realise.
- Cooler when there are two of you: Two bodies raise the temperature under one duvet, so the wool and silk fillings that wick moisture are genuinely useful at this shared size.
- Bedding is easy and cheap to find: Double sheets and 200 x 200cm duvets are stocked everywhere at every price point, so dressing the bed never becomes a hunt.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and your bedroom is a typical UK size, where a UK king would dominate the floor. It also suits you if you sleep alone but like space to spread out, or share with a dog or cat that claims a corner. The firm feel with a pillow top works well for couples who want support without a hard surface.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner are both broad shouldered or restless, and 67.5cm each feels tight. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 15cm wider and 10cm longer, and we suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Is the Harrison Spinks Coleridge in a UK double big enough for two adults?
For most couples, yes. You each get 67.5cm of width, and the pocket springs respond independently, so movement on one side transfers less to the other. If either of you is tall, note the length is 190cm, 10cm shorter than a UK king. Restless or larger couples may find sizing up more comfortable.
What room size do I need for the Coleridge UK double?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That allows the 135 x 190cm mattress plus space to open drawers and fit bedside tables on both sides. These are our own guidelines rather than the manufacturer's, so measure your room before ordering.
Is the Coleridge UK double difficult to get upstairs?
It can be. This is a 35cm deep mattress with seven spring layers and natural fillings, so it arrives full sized rather than rolled and compressed like foam mattresses. Measure any turns on the staircase and the landing, particularly in older terraced houses or new builds with tight corners, and check the retailer's delivery guidance before buying.
Should I get the Coleridge in a UK double or a UK king?
The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m of room for it. If your bedroom comfortably clears that and you share every night, the extra width is usually worth having. In a smaller room, the UK double keeps space for furniture and walking room.
