Layer Details
- Pillow top. A cloud-like pillow top with built-in micro springs, which means a plush surface feel that keeps its shape rather than flattening the way a fibre-only topper can.
- Natural fillings. Generous layers of 100% natural silk, cashmere, mohair, cotton, hemp, flax and British wool. Natural fibres breathe better than foam, so you're less likely to overheat.
- Silk layer. Silk is the strongest natural fibre and is prized for moisture absorption and temperature regulation. In practice, that means a drier, more even sleeping temperature through the night.
- Cashmere layer. Soft cashmere, taken as a byproduct from the fashion industry, known for its softness and insulation. It adds warmth in winter without trapping heat in summer.
- British wool layer. Harrison Spinks has partnered with British Wool, so the wool is fully traceable from farm to factory. Wool also wicks moisture, helping regulate temperature.
- Pocket springs. 17,268 responsive springs across seven layers of high-density micro, Posturfil and Cortec™ pocket springs. Each spring moves independently, which means less partner disturbance and support that follows your body's contours.
- Base layer. A chemical-free surface made from a wool and viscose blend. A reassuring detail if you'd rather avoid chemically treated materials next to your skin.

- Distance beats any comfort layer: With 90cm each for two people sharing, a partner who turns all night is simply further away, which matters more than any filling.
- Independent springs, plus space: The 17,268 pocket springs move independently to limit motion transfer, and the width of a UK super king adds a second line of defence.
- Room for night-time visitors: A child padding in at 3am, or a dog who treats the bed as routine, no longer forces anyone to the edge.
- Firm support across a wide surface: Seven spring layers keep the whole 180cm width consistently supported, so neither sleeper rolls towards the middle.
- Cool sleeping for two: Silk, wool and cashmere regulate temperature naturally, useful when two bodies, and sometimes more, share one mattress.
- Scaled to larger rooms: In a big master bedroom or a period property, a UK king can look undersized; this fills the space properly.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the most space a standard UK size offers, your children or pets regularly join you and everyone still needs their own patch, or your partner is genuinely restless and you've learned that width solves what comfort layers can't. Your bedroom should measure at least 3m x 2.9m, and ideally more, for the room to still function around it.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum, or you'd struggle to walk round the bed comfortably. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 30cm narrower, the same length, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

How big is the Harrison Spinks Coleridge in a UK super king?
It measures 180 x 200cm, which is 6ft x 6ft 6in. That's the same width as two 90cm singles side by side, so it fills a room the way hotel zip and link beds do. At 35cm deep, it's a tall mattress too, so check your headboard height and buy deep-fitted super king sheets.
Will the Coleridge UK super king fit up my stairs?
This is the check that bites at this size. The Coleridge is a sprung mattress, so it can't be rolled or folded like foam, and a 180cm-wide, 35cm-deep mattress is awkward on tight landings and narrow door swings. Measure your staircase, any turns and the bedroom doorway before ordering, and ask the retailer about delivery access.
Is the Coleridge super king good for couples with a restless partner?
It's a strong pairing. The pocket springs move independently, which limits how much movement travels across the bed, and the UK super king adds 90cm of width each, so you feel less of what does transfer. If one of you fidgets or keeps different hours, this size does more for your sleep than any filling could.
What room size do you suggest for the Coleridge in a UK super king?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m as a minimum, with around 3.5m x 3.2m feeling comfortable, leaving space for bedside tables and a clear walkway on both sides. In a loft conversion, the sloping ceiling usually decides which wall the bed can take, so measure standing height on each side before committing.
Is the super king worth it over the UK king for this mattress?
If children or pets join you at night, or your partner moves a lot, the extra 30cm of width is what you'll notice most, and the two sizes are the same length. In a smaller room, though, the UK king keeps the same firm, natural-fill feel while leaving space to move around the bed.
