Layer Details
- Cover. A wool and viscose blend cover, woven in-house, that is fire-retardant without any chemical treatments. That matters if you're sensitive to treated fabrics or simply prefer fewer chemicals near your skin.
- Fillings. Naturally cooling, moisture-wicking fillings including responsibly sourced, fully traceable British wool, plus hemp and flax grown on the Harrison Spinks farm. These help regulate temperature through the night rather than trapping heat.
- Micro springs. A layer of 2,500 high-density micro springs sits beneath the fillings for pressure relief and added comfort. In practice this gives a more responsive, cushioned feel at the surface than fillings alone.
- Pocket springs. The support core is the award-winning Advanced Cortec Quad pocket spring system, with 3,250 springs in king size. Each spring moves independently, which means less partner disturbance and support that follows your shape.

- 90cm each, every night: Two people sharing get 90cm each, which means a restless partner is far enough away that their turning barely reaches you.
- Springs that keep the distance working: The 3,250 Advanced Cortec Quad pocket springs move independently, so the width you've paid for isn't undone by movement travelling across the bed.
- Two halves, one bed: The zip and link build splits the super king into two manageable sections, so landing turns and narrow doorways stop being a reason to size down.
- Different firmness on each side: Furniture Village lists medium, firm and dual tension, so at this width one of you can sleep on medium and the other on firm.
- Room for the whole household: When children or a large dog treat your bed as theirs, the extra width means everyone still gets a workable share of the mattress.
- Natural fillings across a big surface: British wool, hemp and flax wick moisture rather than trapping heat, useful when three or four warm bodies end up on one mattress.
This size suits you if...
You share every night with a partner who fidgets, and you've realised distance solves what no comfort layer can. Or your household routinely grows overnight, with children padding in or a dog claiming the foot of the bed, and a UK king no longer stretches far enough. It also suits a large master or period bedroom where a smaller bed would look lost against the wall.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom can't comfortably take our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m for a UK super king. The UK king is 30cm narrower and the same length, and we'd recommend it instead; allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m for that size.

Will the Pure Response Zip and Link super king fit up my stairs?
More easily than most beds this size. The zip and link design means the UK super king arrives as two separate halves that zip together in the bedroom, so each section is far narrower than a one-piece 180cm mattress. Awkward landing turns and tight door swings that rule out solid super kings are much less of a problem here.
Can each half of the super king be a different firmness?
Yes. Furniture Village lists this mattress in medium, firm and dual tension, and the zip and link construction is what makes dual tension possible: each half is its own mattress. In a UK super king that gives each of you a full 90cm at your own preferred feel, zipped together so there's no visible divide.
Is a super king worth it over a king for a restless partner?
If movement is your main complaint, usually yes. The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, and that extra width does more to hide a fidgety sleeper than any comfort layer. The 3,250 pocket springs help too, since each spring moves independently, but distance is the real fix.
Is there room for children in the super king Pure Response?
This is the size we'd point families towards. At 180cm wide, a child wandering in at 3am can settle between you and both adults still keep a reasonable share, which a UK king struggles to offer. The wool, hemp and flax fillings also help with heat when there are suddenly three of you under one duvet.
What room size do you need for this mattress in a UK super king?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m, with around 3.5m x 3.2m feeling comfortable once you add bedside tables on both sides and space to walk around. That guidance is ours rather than Harrison Spinks', so measure your own room first. If it falls short, the UK king needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.
