- 75cm of width each: Two people get 75cm each across the 150cm width, which means you can change position without brushing elbows or waking whoever's next to you.
- Pocket springs limit partner disturbance: Each spring moves independently, so if one of you gets up hours before the other, the movement is far less likely to travel across the bed.
- 200cm of length for taller sleepers: If one of you is approaching or past six foot, the 200cm length keeps feet on the mattress rather than hanging off the end.
- Firm support across the full width: The firm feel holds steady edge to edge, so back and front sleepers get consistent support wherever they end up during the night.
- A pillowtop that softens the surface: The cushioned top layer sits above the firm springs, which means the extra space feels comfortable to spread out on, rather than hard.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel like a compromise, you or your partner sleeps on back or front and wants genuinely firm support, or one of you is tall enough that the extra length matters as much as the width. It also suits couples on different schedules who want early alarms and late nights to go unnoticed.
Consider another size if...
You're a lightweight side sleeper, since a firm feel may create pressure at the shoulder and hip, or you need a size other than the UK king, as this mattress isn't currently listed in any other size.

Is the UK king Pure Sensation Pillowtop Firm big enough for a couple?
Yes, comfortably for most. At 150 x 200cm you each get 75cm of width, and the pocket springs move independently, so one person shifting or getting up early is less likely to disturb the other. If a dog routinely claims part of the bed, that extra width over a double is the difference between cramped and manageable.
What room size do I need for this king mattress?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, which is our guidance rather than the manufacturer's. In a new build master bedroom, measure with the wardrobes in place, because these rooms often feel smaller once furniture arrives. Allow walking space on both sides if you want bedside tables.
Is the UK king Pure Sensation long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm (the mattress measures 5ft x 6ft 6in overall), it gives taller sleepers a genuine 10cm more length than a standard UK double. For many couples where one partner is over six foot, that extra length is the real reason to size up, with the added width a welcome bonus.
Should we upgrade from a double to this king size?
If you regularly wake each other or feel hemmed in, probably. The UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double and 10cm longer, and on a firm pocket spring mattress like this one, the combination of extra space and independent springs makes a noticeable difference for couples on different schedules.
Where can I buy the Pure Sensation Pillowtop Firm in a UK king?
Availability changes, so the most reliable answer is the live comparison table on this page, where prices are updated as retailers change them. It's a premium mattress, so it's worth checking the table before you commit rather than assuming the first price you see is the best one.
