- Cover. A wool-blend cover woven in-house, which is fire-retardant without chemical treatments. That means fewer synthetic additives sitting close to your skin.
- Fillings. Responsibly sourced, fully traceable British wool sits alongside hemp and flax grown on the Harrison Spinks farm, plus soft, breathable cotton. These were chosen for cooling and moisture-wicking, which should help you sleep at a steadier temperature.
- Micro springs. A layer of 2,500 high-density micro springs provides pressure relief and cushioning. In practice this gives a responsive, contouring feel where your shoulders and hips press in.
- Pocket spring system. The Advanced Cortec Revolution Quad pocket spring system uses a spring-within-a-spring design. This gives dynamic support that adapts as you change position through the night.

- 90cm of space each: Two people sharing get 90cm each, which means a restless partner turning over at 3am becomes far easier to sleep through.
- Two halves, one big bed: The zip and link build splits into two sections for delivery, so a tight landing turn or narrow loft stairs need not rule out this size.
- Different tensions at full width: Available in medium, firm and dual tension, so each half of the 180cm width can suit the person sleeping on it.
- Room for company: Children padding in at night, or a large dog with settled habits, can join you without anyone ending up on the edge.
- 30cm wider than the UK king: That extra width over the UK king is the difference between sharing comfortably and sleeping properly apart when you want to.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK king no longer feels like enough, you have children or a dog who regularly join you and you still want your own space, or you and your partner sleep at different tensions and like the idea of a dual-firmness bed. Your room should measure at least 3m x 2.9m, and closer to 3.5m x 3.2m feels right.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under the 3m x 2.9m we suggest, or you sleep alone. The UK king would suit you better: it is 30cm narrower, the same length, and we suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Will the Pure Splendour super king fit up a narrow staircase?
More easily than most beds this size. The zip and link design means the UK super king arrives as two separate halves that join together, so each piece is far narrower than 180cm on the stairs. Still measure your door swing and any landing turns first, since each half is a full 200cm long.
What size room do I need for the Pure Splendour in a UK super king?
We suggest a minimum of 3m x 2.9m, and around 3.5m x 3.2m if you want bedside tables on both sides and space to walk around the foot of the bed comfortably. In anything smaller, the UK king, with its 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, is usually the wiser buy.
How much bigger is the super king Pure Splendour than the UK king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length at 200cm. That 30cm sounds modest on paper, but it takes each sharer from a squeeze to a comfortable 90cm of personal width, which is why restless couples tend to size up.
Is the super king a good choice if children climb in at night?
Yes, this is where the size makes sense. With 180cm of width, a child arriving in the small hours can settle between you without pushing either adult to the edge, and the responsive pocket spring build limits how much their fidgeting travels across the bed. A UK king manages the odd visit; the UK super king manages a routine.
Can each side of the UK super king have a different firmness?
Yes. The zip and link construction is offered in medium, firm and dual tension, so at this width each of you gets roughly a single bed's worth of space set to your own preference. That suits couples with a big weight difference, or where one of you likes a noticeably firmer feel.
