Layer Details
- Cover. Woven in-house and free from fire retardant chemicals, meeting fire safety standards naturally. That means fewer chemical treatments next to your skin.
- Wool comfort layer. Layers of British wool give a soft yet springy surface feel. Wool insulates in winter and breathes in summer, which helps regulate temperature year round.
- British wool, hemp and flax blend. A further comfort layer that increases breathability. The blend is designed to reduce any build-up of mildew and mould.
- Cotton, hemp and flax blend. This layer wicks moisture away and adds more airflow. Useful if you tend to sleep warm or share the bed.
- Ecotex layer. Made from recycled fibres, this layer strengthens the mattress. It also keeps material out of landfill, a small but genuine sustainability point.
- Micro springs. 4,500 mini springs sit above the main unit for targeted, contoured comfort. Their small size means more contact points with your body, so pressure is spread more evenly.
- Pocket springs. The Cortec Quad Revolution system uses 1,000 springs, each with a smaller spring inside, secured in groups of four. Pocketing lets each spring move independently, which means less disturbance when a partner shifts.

- 75cm each for two sharing: The UK king gives each of you 75cm of width, which means you can spread out on the soft to medium surface without meeting in the middle.
- Independent springs, wider bed: Each pocket spring moves on its own, so a partner leaving hours before you is less likely to wake you, especially with the UK king's extra distance between you.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm long, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a real difference if one of you is approaching six foot.
- Breathable across the whole surface: The wool, hemp and flax layers wick moisture and breathe, and in the UK king there is more surface for that airflow to work over two warm sleepers.
- Room to shift position: The 4,500 micro springs contour wherever you lie, useful during pregnancy or recovery when you're propping pillows and changing position through the night.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK double has started to feel cramped, one of you is tall enough to appreciate the 200cm length, or you're regularly woken by a partner on a different schedule and want more distance between you as well as springs that move independently. Your bedroom should be at least 2.7m x 2.9m, our suggested minimum for a UK king.
Consider another size if...
You sleep alone, or your room is under our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum. In that case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and is 15cm narrower.

How big is the Harrison Spinks Silver 6500 in a UK king?
The UK king measures 150 x 200cm, or 5ft x 6ft 6in. For two people sharing, that works out at 75cm of width each, with the full 200cm length available to both sides of the bed.
Is the Silver 6500 UK king good for couples on different schedules?
It's a strong match. The 1,000 pocket springs move independently, so one person getting up early transfers less movement across the bed, and the UK king's 150cm width puts more distance between you than a UK double would. Lighter sleepers will feel the benefit of both together.
What room size do I need for the Silver 6500 in a UK king?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with more feeling comfortable. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they first appear once wardrobes go in, so measure your usable floor space rather than the room on the plan before committing.
Should I choose the UK king or the UK super king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, so it's a width upgrade only. If a dog routinely joins you, or you both want maximum space, it may suit better, but allow at least 3m x 2.9m of room for it.
Is the UK king long enough for a tall sleeper?
At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which is often the deciding factor for anyone around six foot whose feet reach the end of a standard 190cm mattress. Both sleepers get that full length, whichever side they take.
