Layer Details
- Cover. Woven in-house and free from fire retardant chemicals, meeting fire safety standards naturally. That means fewer chemical treatments next to your skin.
- Wool comfort layer. Layers of British wool give a soft yet springy surface feel. Wool insulates in winter and breathes in summer, which helps regulate temperature year round.
- British wool, hemp and flax blend. A further comfort layer that increases breathability. The blend is designed to reduce any build-up of mildew and mould.
- Cotton, hemp and flax blend. This layer wicks moisture away and adds more airflow. Useful if you tend to sleep warm or share the bed.
- Ecotex layer. Made from recycled fibres, this layer strengthens the mattress. It also keeps material out of landfill, a small but genuine sustainability point.
- Micro springs. 4,500 mini springs sit above the main unit for targeted, contoured comfort. Their small size means more contact points with your body, so pressure is spread more evenly.
- Pocket springs. The Cortec Quad Revolution system uses 1,000 springs, each with a smaller spring inside, secured in groups of four. Pocketing lets each spring move independently, which means less disturbance when a partner shifts.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Distance from a restless partner: At 90cm each for two people sharing, most tossing and turning happens too far away to wake you.
- Pocket springs suit the width: The Cortec Quad Revolution's 1,000 pocket springs move independently, which means movement on one side of this wide surface barely travels to the other.
- Room for midnight visitors: When a child or a large dog climbs in at 3am, 180cm of width means everyone keeps a usable share of the bed.
- Wool and hemp across a big surface: The British wool, hemp and flax layers breathe and wick moisture, useful when three warm bodies share one mattress.
- 30cm wider than a UK king: The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king at the same length, a difference you feel every night rather than a spec-sheet detail.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the most sleeping room a standard UK size offers, your partner is genuinely restless and distance matters more than any comfort layer, or children and pets regularly join you and a UK king has started to feel crowded. You'll need the space for it: we suggest a room of at least 3m x 2.9m, with more feeling comfortable.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 3m x 2.9m we suggest, or the bed would dominate the room. We'd recommend the UK king instead: the UK super king is 30cm wider but the same length, and the UK king needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Harrison Spinks Silver 6500 good for couples in a UK super king?
Yes, arguably it's the size where this mattress makes most sense. Each of you gets 90cm of width, and the 1,000 pocket springs move independently, so one sleeper shifting rarely disturbs the other. One caution: the feel leans soft to medium, so heavier couples wanting firm pushback may find it a little yielding at any size.
What room size do I need for the Silver 6500 UK super king?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m, and around 3.5m x 3.2m feels more comfortable once you add bedside tables on both sides and wardrobe doors that need to open. In a large master or a period property with a generous bedroom, this size sits well where a UK king can look undersized.
Will the Silver 6500 super king get up my stairs?
This is the check that bites at 180 x 200cm. A pocket spring mattress of this size flexes less than foam, so measure your stairwell, any landing turns and the bedroom door swing before ordering. Harrison Spinks doesn't publish a weight for this mattress, so check the retailer's delivery guidance too.
Is the UK super king Silver 6500 worth it over the UK king?
If your room takes it, usually yes. The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king with the same length, and on a mattress with a soft to medium feel, extra distance from a partner does more for undisturbed sleep than any layer can. In a room under 3m x 2.9m, the UK king is the sensible call.
Does the medium feel hold up with children or pets sharing the bed?
The width does most of the work: three across 180cm is workable in a way it never is on a smaller size. The 4,500 micro springs contour to each body separately, and the wool and hemp layers help with the extra warmth. Regular jumping from larger dogs is a durability question for any mattress, though the Ecotex layer adds some reinforcement.
