Quilted Cover
The cover and fillings are stitched together to create a patterned comfort quilt layer. This gives the surface a soft, cushioned feel from the moment you lie down.
Natural Silk Layer
Silk is prized for its softness and lightweight feel. Here it adds a gentle, luxurious layer of comfort near the sleep surface.
Cashmere
Cashmere is a rare filling, softer and finer than wool, and typically found only in quality mattresses. It adds to the plush, sink-in character of this soft model.
Authentic Traceable British Wool
This wool is 100% traceable from farm to shop and comes from British Cheviot sheep, known for a strong yet soft fleece. It provides natural bounce and helps regulate your temperature, which means fewer overheated nights.
Pocket Springs
Each of the 1,000 springs sits in its own fabric pocket and works independently of its neighbours. That means better pressure-relieving support and less disturbance when a partner moves.
Layer details from mattressnextday.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Room to sink in side by side: With 75cm each for two people sharing, you can enjoy this mattress's deep, cushioned feel without ending up shoulder to shoulder.
- Less disturbance across a wider bed: The 1,000 pocket springs move independently, and the extra width of a UK king puts more of them between you and a restless partner.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm long, the UK king adds 10cm over a double, which means anyone approaching six foot stops negotiating with the footboard.
- A soft mattress that suits sharing: Because each spring responds to the person above it, one lighter and one heavier sleeper can share this soft surface without rolling together.
- Natural fillings at full width: Silk, cashmere and traceable British wool run across the whole 150cm, so the temperature-regulating benefit of the wool covers both sides of the bed.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel like a compromise, especially with one of you leaving for work hours before the other. Or one of you is over six foot and it's length, more than width, you're really shopping for. Lighter couples who both like a sink-in feel will get the most from this soft mattress at this size.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone. In either case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which keeps the same soft natural fillings in a footprint most rooms handle easily.

Is the Highgrove Belmont 1000 in a UK king big enough for two people?
Yes, comfortably. A UK king gives 75cm each for two people sharing, which matters on a soft mattress like this because you each get your own stretch of independently moving pocket springs. That means less pulling towards a partner's dip and enough room to change position freely, useful during pregnancy or when recovering from an injury.
How much bigger is the UK king than the double for this mattress?
The UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double, and at 200cm it adds 10cm of length too. On the Belmont 1000 that extra width is the difference between sharing a soft, sink-in surface happily and feeling every turn your partner makes. If one of you is tall, the length alone justifies the upgrade.
What room size do I need for the Highgrove Belmont UK king?
We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with 3.2m x 3.2m feeling comfortable. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they look once wardrobes go in, so measure with furniture in place. If the numbers don't work, the UK double version of this mattress is a sound fallback.
Does a UK king help with partner disturbance on a soft mattress?
It helps noticeably. The Belmont's 1,000 pocket springs each move independently, so movement doesn't travel far, and the UK king's 150cm width adds physical distance on top. If one of you gets up hours before the other, that combination means the early riser can slip out with far less chance of waking their partner.
What are the dimensions of the Highgrove Belmont 1000 UK king?
It measures 150 x 200cm, which is 5ft x 6ft 6in, with the same 33cm depth as every size of this mattress. That depth gives it a substantial, traditional profile, so check your fitted sheets are deep enough. Standard UK king bedding fits, including a 230 x 220cm king duvet.
