- Cover. A soft, microquilted Coolmax® stretch fabric cover designed to help regulate body temperature. In practice, that means heat and moisture are drawn away from you rather than trapped at the surface.
- Fillings. Hypoallergenic fillings sit beneath the cover. These are a helpful choice if dust or allergens tend to disturb your sleep.
- Spring construction. Traditional coil spring construction provides support, with reinforced edges to minimise roll off. You should feel a uniform, springy support across the whole surface, including near the sides.

- Proper space for two: At 75cm each for two people sharing, you can both settle into your preferred position without negotiating over the middle.
- 15cm wider than a UK double: The UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double, a difference you notice most on an extra firm surface where you lie on top rather than nestling in.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm long, or 5ft x 6ft 6in overall, anyone approaching six foot gets their feet on the mattress rather than hanging off it.
- Usable edges across the full width: Reinforced edges minimise roll off, which means the outer strips of a shared king remain proper sleeping space rather than a no-go zone.
- Cooler nights when sharing: Two bodies generate more heat than one, and the Coolmax® stretch fabric cover is designed to draw warmth and moisture away rather than trap it.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, especially with a firm surface where neither of you sinks out of the other's way. Or one of you is tall enough that the 200cm length is the real upgrade. It also suits couples whose dog has claimed a corner as routine, leaving less of the bed than you paid for.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum for a king. In that case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which keeps you sharing comfortably in a tighter room.

Is the Highgrove Dream Coil UK king big enough for two adults?
Yes, comfortably for most couples. The UK king measures 150 x 200cm, giving 75cm each for two people sharing. On an extra firm mattress like this you stay on the surface rather than rolling towards the centre, so that width tends to feel genuinely usable edge to edge, helped by the reinforced sides.
Should I choose the Dream Coil in a UK king or a UK super king?
The UK king is 30cm narrower than the UK super king, so if your room is large and you both spread out, sizing up buys real breathing space. For most couples the UK king is the sensible middle ground: a clear step up from a double without dominating the room.
What room size do I need for a UK king Dream Coil?
We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with 3.2m x 3.2m feeling comfortable. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they first appear once wardrobes and drawers go in, so measure the floor space you'll actually have left before committing to this size.
Is the UK king Dream Coil difficult to turn?
It takes two people, realistically. This is a two-sided, 24cm deep coil-sprung mattress that needs turning regularly to spread the wear, and a 150 x 200cm mattress is awkward for one person to flip. If you'll be handling it alone, factor that chore in before choosing the king.
Will a UK king reduce disturbance from a restless partner?
The extra width helps. With 75cm each, an early riser can slip out with less contact than on a double, which is 15cm narrower. Bear in mind this is a traditional coil-sprung mattress, so some movement will still travel across the surface; the space simply gives it further to go.
