- 90cm each for two people sharing: Two sleepers each get 90cm of width, which means a fidgety partner, or a guest paired with a stranger's snoring, is far easier to ignore.
- The hotel footprint: At 180cm wide, a UK super king matches the footprint hotel style zip and link beds are built on, so it slots naturally into contract room plans.
- Crib 5 rated at full size: The contract fire rating that landlords and accommodation providers may be legally required to meet applies here in the most generous size the range offers.
- Pocket springs across a wide bed: The Pocket 1000 spring unit responds to each sleeper individually, which matters more at this width where two people can settle in quite different ways.
- Room for extra arrivals: In a family let or a home where children or a large dog turn up in the night, everyone still gets a workable share of the bed.
This size suits you if...
You're furnishing a hotel room, holiday let or rental where Crib 5 compliance is a legal requirement and you want the most spacious standard UK size; you're a landlord kitting out a premium master bedroom; or you share with a genuinely restless partner, children or pets, and you have a room of at least 3m x 2.9m to hold it.
Consider another size if...
Your room measures less than our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m, or your guest rooms are more modest in scale. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which keeps a generous shared width in a smaller footprint.

Will a super king mattress work in a loft conversion or awkward room?
Often, but the slope usually decides which wall the bed can take, and at 180 x 200cm this mattress leaves little margin. We suggest a room of at least 3m x 2.9m, with the bed placed where you can still stand at full height on both sides.
Is the Highgrove Stafford Crib 5 super king suitable for hotel rooms?
Yes, that's its natural setting. The Crib 5 rating meets the stricter fire standard contract accommodation requires, and 180cm of width matches the footprint hotel style zip and link beds use, so it suits premium doubles and family rooms where guests expect generous space.
Is a super king worth it for a restless partner?
Distance does more than any comfort layer here. With 90cm of width each, movement on one side is simply further away, and the pocket springs respond independently rather than transferring it across the bed. If one of you tosses and turns nightly, this size solves more than a firmer or softer mattress would.
How hard is it to get a super king mattress upstairs?
Harder than any other size. At 180 x 200cm you'll want to measure door swings, landing turns and stairwell width before ordering, especially in older properties. Unlike zip and link sets, this is a single one piece mattress, so there's no splitting it in half for the climb.
What bedding do I need for the super king size?
Super king sheets to fit the 180 x 200cm footprint, and a 260 x 220cm duvet if you want proper overhang on both sides. Bedding at this size costs a little more and fewer shops stock it, which is a running cost to factor in for guest accommodation with regular linen changes.
