Key benefits
- Leaves floor space free: We suggest at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space, which means a desk and a wardrobe can still share a small bedroom with the bed.
- Easier to get upstairs: It is a rolled mattress, so it is simpler to carry up a tight staircase or round a landing corner than a single that arrives flat.
- Zoning for one body: With the whole 90cm surface to yourself, the five zones from neck to legs are shaped around one sleeper rather than split between two people.
- Works as a pair: Two UK singles side by side let a guest room host two friends or two siblings, each on their own memory foam surface.
- Easy bedding: Standard single sheets and a single duvet (135 x 200cm) fit, and single bedding is the most widely stocked of any size in the UK.
This size suits you if...
You're buying for a child, a teenager or yourself as a solo sleeper, and keeping floor space free matters more to you than extra width. It also fits the bill when you're furnishing a spare room that doubles as an office, or a student room where the frame is already provided and only the mattress is missing.
Consider another size if...
You share the bed most nights, or you sleep restlessly and like room to sprawl. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which gives 67.5cm each for two; we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it.

FAQ's
Will the Hyde & Sleep 360 Energise UK single fit a bunk bed or mid sleeper?
At 90 x 190cm it matches a standard UK single base. Hyde & Sleep doesn't publish a depth for this mattress, though, and raised frames usually set a maximum mattress depth below the safety rail. Check your frame's guidance and confirm the depth with the retailer before buying for a bunk, cabin or mid sleeper.
How much bedroom space do I need for a UK single 360 Energise?
We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m. That is noticeably less than the UK double, where we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, so the UK single is the easier choice for a child's room where the bed has to sit alongside toy storage and a desk.
Is a UK single 360 Energise long enough for an adult?
The UK single is 190cm long, the same length as the UK double. If you are tall and your feet already reach the end of a standard bed, the UK king is 10cm longer, although it is also 60cm wider and needs a bigger room.
Can I put two 360 Energise UK singles in a guest room?
Yes, and two singles suit a guest room that hosts friends or siblings as often as couples. Each person gets their own 90cm surface. Two beds need more floor than our suggested minimum for one UK single, so measure for both beds plus a walkway between them.
Will a rolled UK single mattress get up narrow loft stairs?
A rolled mattress is far easier to manoeuvre up a steep or twisting staircase than a flat one. Under a sloping loft ceiling, the narrow 3ft width also helps the bed tuck in where headroom is lower. Measure the stairwell and the space under the slope, then compare the retailers listed on this page.
