Layer Details
- Sleep surface. An organic wool and cotton breathable sleep surface. Wool naturally wicks moisture and regulates temperature, which means a drier, more comfortable feel through the night.
- Natural comfort layer. A natural blanket of moisture-wicking cotton, hemp and flax. These fibres draw dampness away from your body, helpful if you tend to sleep warm.
- Latex layers. Two latex layers provide the pressure relief. Latex responds quickly as you move, cushioning hips and shoulders without the sunken feeling some foams create.
- Spring system. Hypnos' ReActivePro® 7-turn pocket spring system, with each spring moving individually. That independent movement means the mattress responds to your shape and limits disturbance from a restless partner.
Layer details from featherandblack.com product page, September 2026.
- Space that suits a firm tension: A firm mattress holds you where you lie, so the UK king's 75cm each means you can spread out without negotiating territory.
- Less disturbance from a partner: The ReActivePro pocket springs move individually, and the wider UK king puts more distance between you, so an early riser slipping out is easier to sleep through.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which anyone approaching six foot will feel at their feet every night.
- Natural temperature control for two: Two bodies raise the temperature under a duvet, and the wool, cotton, hemp and flax layers wick moisture rather than trapping it.
- Room for a routine bed-sharer: If the dog claims a corner most nights, the extra width over a UK double means you still keep your 75cm.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and have outgrown a UK double, especially if one of you keeps different hours and slips in or out while the other sleeps. It also makes sense if either partner is approaching six foot, since the 200cm length removes the cramped feeling a 190cm mattress can give, or if a pet has become a permanent fixture and the space needs to stretch further.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter and needs a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Hypnos Organics 2 in a UK king big enough for two adults?
Yes, comfortably for most couples. The UK king measures 150 x 200cm, giving 75cm each for two people sharing. Because this is a firm mattress, you tend to stay where you settle rather than rolling together, so that width feels genuinely usable rather than theoretical.
What room size do I need for a UK king Hypnos Organics 2?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m. That leaves enough space to walk round the bed and open drawers or wardrobes. In a new build master bedroom, measure carefully once fitted furniture is accounted for, because these rooms often feel smaller than the floor plan suggests.
Should I choose the UK king or the UK super king Hypnos Organics 2?
The UK king is 30cm narrower than the UK super king, and both are the same 200cm length. If your room comfortably exceeds our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum for the UK super king and you value maximum personal space, size up. Otherwise the UK king suits most couples.
Is the UK king long enough for a tall sleeper?
At 200cm, or 6ft 6in, it accommodates most tall sleepers without their feet reaching the edge. That is 10cm more length than the UK double, which is often the reason taller people upgrade. If you are well over six foot, the extra length may matter more to you than the extra width.
Will I feel my partner getting up early in this size?
Less than you might expect. The ReActivePro pocket springs compress individually, so movement stays localised, and the UK king's width adds physical distance between you. Firm tensions also transfer less wobble than softer beds. If one of you leaves hours before the other, this combination helps the sleeper stay asleep.
