- 90cm each, every night: Two people sharing get 90cm each, which means a restless partner can turn over all night without pulling you out of sleep.
- Springs plus distance: The 1,200 pocket springs compress individually, and at this width your partner's movement happens far enough away that little of it reaches your side anyway.
- Room for visitors: If children or a large dog treat your bed as theirs, the extra 30cm over a UK king is what keeps everyone from being pushed to the edge.
- Firm support across the full width: The firm tension stays consistent edge to edge, so the person sleeping nearer the side gets the same resistance under their back as the person in the middle.
- A bed that fits a big room: In a large master or period bedroom a smaller bed can look lost, and the 180cm width sits in proportion where a UK king would seem undersized.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the most distance from a partner's movement that a standard UK size can give you, your children or pets regularly end up in the bed with you, or your bedroom is large enough that a UK king would look and feel too small for the space.
Consider another size if...
Your room falls short of the 3m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum, or you sleep alone and don't need this much width. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which is 30cm narrower and the same length, and needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

How big is the Hypnos Orthos Support 8 in a super king?
It measures 180 x 200cm, which is 6ft x 6ft 6in. That gives two people 90cm each when sharing, and it's 30cm wider than the UK king while being the same length. It's the largest of the five sizes this mattress comes in.
Is a super king too big for my bedroom?
We suggest a room of at least 3m x 2.9m for a UK super king, with around 3.5m x 3.2m feeling comfortable once you add furniture and walking space. Measure with the door swing in mind. If your room is smaller, the UK king needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m and loses only 30cm of width.
Is the super king worth it for a restless partner?
This is the size where separation does the most work. The 1,200 pocket springs already absorb movement individually, but 90cm each means most of your partner's turning simply happens too far away to feel. No comfort layer matches that kind of distance, so if disturbance is your main complaint, this size is the answer.
Will the Orthos Support 8 super king get up my stairs?
A firm pocket spring mattress at 180 x 200cm is a big, rigid object, and it won't fold the way foam does. Tight landings, low ceilings and sharp turns are the usual sticking points, so measure your stairwell and doorways before ordering. Loft conversions with sloped ceilings deserve particular care.
Is the super king a good size for sharing with children?
It's the most practical standard size for it. When a child wanders in during the night, the extra 30cm over a UK king is often the difference between everyone sleeping and one adult clinging to the edge. The firm tension also holds its shape well with an extra small body aboard.
