Consider another size if...

Is the UK double MattressNextDay Ortho Memory Foam big enough for a couple?
For most couples, yes. Two people sharing get 67.5cm each, which is the long-standing UK standard for shared beds. The firm feel helps here too, keeping the surface even so you're less likely to roll into each other. Taller sleepers should note the 190cm length, which is 10cm shorter than a UK king.
Should I buy this mattress in a UK double or a UK king?
It mostly comes down to room space. The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer, giving 75cm each for two sharing, so the UK double gives 7.5cm less each. If your bedroom is at least 2.7m x 2.9m and you both value space, size up. In a smaller room, the UK double leaves you space to actually move around.
What room size do I need for the UK double version?
Allow at least 2.6m x 2.8m, which is our own guidance rather than the manufacturer's. That leaves enough clearance to walk round the bed and open drawers, and in a slightly larger room you'll fit bedside tables on both sides comfortably. Around 3m x 3m is where a UK double feels genuinely relaxed.
Is the UK double a good size for a guest room?
It's the size we'd usually point to for guest rooms, because it accommodates visiting couples as well as solo guests, and the firm surface tends to divide opinion less than a very soft one. At 135 x 190cm it fits most second bedrooms alongside a wardrobe and drawers without dominating the space.
Does the UK double suit a solo sleeper?
Comfortably. On your own you have the full 135cm width to spread out, roughly double what you'd get sleeping two, and plenty even if a pet claims a corner each night.
