- Silk. A light, soft top comfort layer, which means the first thing you feel is gentle rather than the firm springs beneath. It adds a touch of luxury without changing the overall firm support.
- Cashmere. A rare filling that's softer and finer than wool, typically reserved for higher quality mattresses. It sits just under the silk to cushion the sleeping surface.
- Authentic Traceable British Wool. Wool from British Cheviot sheep, fully traceable from farm to shop, with a naturally strong yet soft fleece. It gives a natural bounce and helps regulate your temperature, so you're less likely to overheat.
- 2000 Pocket Springs. Each spring is sewn into its own fabric pocket, which means they work independently and contour to your body for better pressure relief. This also limits motion transfer, useful if you share the bed.

- Real distance from a restless partner: At 90cm each, a partner who turns all night is further away from you, and the independent pocket springs reduce how much of their movement reaches your side.
- Room when children climb in: A child arriving at 3am can settle between you on the UK super king without either adult ending up clinging to the edge.
- More width than the UK king: The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, which means 15cm more each for two people sharing.
- Firm support across a big surface: The firm spring unit keeps the whole 180cm width supportive, so a dog or child sleeping near you is less likely to leave you rolling into a dip.
- Scaled for larger bedrooms: In a spacious master or a period property with high ceilings, a UK super king looks in proportion where a smaller bed can seem lost.
This size suits you if...
You share with a partner whose tossing and turning keeps waking you, or children and a dog routinely end up in bed with you, and your bedroom clears the 3m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested 3m x 2.9m, or two of you sleep fairly still. We'd recommend the UK king instead, for which we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Northington 2000 super king big enough for two adults and a child?
For occasional visits, yes. At 180 x 200cm the UK super king gives two adults 90cm each, and a small child can usually fit between you without anyone being pushed to the edge. The firm spring unit also helps, because a child's weight is less likely to create a dip you roll towards.
Northington 2000 super king vs king: how much extra space do you get?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length. Shared between two people, that works out as 15cm more each. The trade-off is room size: we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king, against 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
Will a UK super king Northington 2000 help with a restless partner?
It should help noticeably. You get 90cm each, so there is more physical distance between you than on any smaller UK size. The 2,000 pocket springs move independently, which limits how far movement travels across the bed. The two work together, but the extra width does most of the work here.
Where should a super king go in a loft conversion bedroom?
In a loft conversion, the roof slope usually decides which wall the bed goes against. You need full standing height at the side where you get in and out. Check the floor space as well: we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for a UK super king. Measure the usable area under the slope, not the full floor.
How much bigger is the Northington 2000 super king than a double?
The UK super king is 45cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double. For two people sharing, that is 22.5cm more each, because the UK double gives 67.5cm each. If you are moving up from the UK double with a restless partner or regular small visitors, that is a big change in space.
