- Tencel™ Lyocell sleep surface. A silky, soft-touch top layer woven to allow airflow and move moisture away from you, which means you're less likely to wake up clammy. It's the first thing you'll feel through your bedding.
- Platinum comfort layer. Silentnight says this is 10x more breathable than memory foam with the same level of pressure relief. In practice that means a cocooning, cushioned feel without the warmth foam can trap.
- British Wool Comfort Layer. Wool from Cheviot sheep, flexible and breathable, helping regulate temperature so you stay cool in summer and warm in winter. It's a natural material doing a job synthetic layers often struggle with.
- Mirapocket® springs and mini pocket springs. 600 Mirapocket® springs work with 1000 mini pocket springs, which means each spring responds to your body independently for tailored support. The dual layer also increases breathability through the core of the mattress.

No. Silentnight makes this mattress in single, double and super king only, so if you wanted a UK king your choice is between the UK double and the UK super king. The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, so where the room allows it, sizing up is the better direction.
How much space do two people get on a super king Silentnight British Wool 1600?
90cm each for two people sharing, which is the width of a whole single mattress per person. Combined with the independent pocket springs, that means a partner turning over happens at a distance, on springs that aren't the ones supporting you. For light sleepers, that separation matters more than any comfort layer.

We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m as a minimum, and around 3.5m x 3.2m if you want bedside tables on both sides and space to move around the bed comfortably. That's our own guidance rather than Silentnight's. If your room falls short, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.
Is the super king good for sharing with children or pets?
It's the size we'd point families to. At 6ft x 6ft 6in there's genuine room for a child who wanders in at night, or a large dog who considers the bed part of the routine, without either adult ending up clinging to an edge. The breathable wool build also copes better with extra warm bodies than foam would.
Will I feel my partner moving on this mattress?
Less than on a smaller size. The 600 Mirapocket® springs and 1000 mini pocket springs each compress independently, so movement is localised rather than travelling across the mattress, and the 180cm width puts physical distance between you as well. A very restless sleeper will never be completely undetectable, but the combination makes disturbance easy to sleep through.
