- Tencel™ Lyocell sleep surface. A silky, soft-touch material woven to allow airflow, which means moisture is moved away from you rather than held against your skin. It is the first thing you feel when you lie down.
- Platinum comfort layer. Silentnight describes this as 10x more breathable than memory foam while offering the same amount of pressure relief. In practice that means a cocooning, cushioned feel without the heat build-up foam can cause.
- British Wool comfort layer. Wool from Cheviot sheep, a flexible and breathable material that helps keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. It also lets the mattress stay foam free with natural flame retardants.
- Mirapocket® springs and mini pocket springs. 1400 Mirapocket® springs adjust to your movements through the night, so support follows you as you change position. A further 1000 mini pocket springs add comfort and increase breathability.

- Proper space for two: At 75cm each for two people sharing, you can both change position without negotiating territory, which makes a real difference on restless nights.
- Length for taller sleepers: The UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double at 200cm, a welcome margin for anyone approaching six foot whose feet currently reach the edge.
- Less disturbance across the width: The 1400 Mirapocket® springs respond individually to movement, and the extra width means an early alarm on one side is felt less on the other.
- Cool across a bigger surface: British wool and the Tencel™ Lyocell surface breathe rather than trap heat, so two bodies sharing a warm room stay noticeably more comfortable.
- Fits most master bedrooms: We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m, which most UK master bedrooms manage even once wardrobes and bedside tables are in place.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, especially if one of you is over six foot and needs the 200cm length. It also suits couples on mismatched schedules, where one person gets up hours before the other: the width and the individually responding pocket springs both help the sleeper who stays put.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, or you sleep alone. In either case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Silentnight British Wool 2400 in a UK king worth it over the double?
For most couples, yes. The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double, and on a mattress with a Medium/Firm feel that extra width means you can spread out rather than compensate by sinking in. If your bedroom can take it, the upgrade is felt every night.
How much space do two people get on this mattress in a UK king?
75cm each for two people sharing. That is enough for most couples to turn over, prop up with pillows or stretch out without touching, which matters on a Medium/Firm mattress where you sleep more on the surface than in it.
Is the UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
It helps considerably. At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, so a sleeper approaching or just over six foot gets clear space beyond their feet. If you are well over six foot, the length is the same in the UK super king, so sizing up buys width, not extra length.
What room size does the UK king version need?
We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with more space feeling comfortable once you add wardrobes and bedside tables on both sides. New build master bedrooms often look bigger than they are, so measure with furniture positions in mind before committing to the 150 x 200cm footprint.
Should I get the UK king or the UK super king in this mattress?
The UK king suits most couples: the UK super king is 30cm wider but the same length, and needs a room of at least 3m x 2.9m. If your schedules clash badly, or a dog routinely claims part of the bed, that extra width may justify the bigger room requirement.
