Layer Details
- Memory Foam with Pillowtop. A layer of memory foam combined with a pillowtop, which means the surface contours to your body while adding a plush, cushioned feel from the moment you lie down. It is the part of the mattress you will notice most.
- Mirapocket Springs. 2000 Mirapocket springs sit in individual pockets and respond independently to body movement, which means better spinal alignment and less motion transfer between partners. That spring count applies to the King size, with other sizes adjusted proportionally.

- Fits where space is tight: At 90cm wide it leaves room for a desk, wardrobe and toy storage in a child's bedroom, or two beds plus a walkway where siblings share.
- Grown-up comfort for a teenager: The memory foam and pillowtop contour to a growing body, which means a teen gets a proper adult-quality surface rather than a basic children's mattress.
- Genuine pocket-spring support underneath: Mirapocket springs respond independently to movement, so lighter sleepers get support matched to where they actually lie rather than a uniform pushback.
- A kind option for guests: A medium feel with a cushioned top suits most visiting sleepers, which makes it a sensible pick for a spare room or a study that doubles as guest space.
- Check depth on raised frames: At 31cm this is a deep mattress, so measure your bunk, cabin or mid sleeper's maximum mattress depth before buying, as many raised frames need something slimmer.
This size suits you if...
You're buying for a child or teenager and want a mattress that will last them into adulthood, you sleep alone in a compact room, or you're furnishing a guest room and want visitors to sleep on something more forgiving than a budget spare-bed mattress.
Consider another size if...
You're an adult who shares the bed, or you simply want more room to spread out. We'd recommend the UK double instead: it's 45cm wider at the same length, and we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it.

Will the Silentnight Memory 2000 UK single fit a bunk bed?
Be careful here. At 31cm deep, this mattress is thicker than many bunk, cabin and mid-sleeper frames allow, and a mattress that sits above the safety rail is a real hazard. Check your frame's maximum mattress depth before buying. It's also single-sided, so the pillowtop must always face up, which rules out flipping it to fit.
Does the UK single version have 2000 springs?
No. The 2000 figure is counted on the UK king, and Silentnight adjusts the spring count pro rata for other sizes, so the UK single has proportionally fewer. That isn't a downgrade: the spring density across the surface stays the same, so one sleeper on a single gets the same support per square inch.
Is a UK single big enough for an adult?
For one average-height adult, yes. At 90 x 190cm it's the standard UK one-person size, and the pocket springs support a lone sleeper well. If you're notably tall, the UK king runs 10cm longer than the UK single. If you like to sprawl, the UK small double is 30cm wider at the same length.
How much room does the Silentnight Memory 2000 single need?
The mattress itself is 90 x 190cm. We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space, which gives you room to walk round and change the bedding without squeezing past furniture. That makes it a realistic fit for box rooms, lofts with a narrow usable footprint, and children's rooms already full of storage.
Is the Memory 2000 pillowtop single good for a child?
Generally yes, once they're past toddler age. The medium feel with pocket springs supports a growing spine, and the quality means it should see a child through to their teens. One caveat: the pillowtop is quite plush on top, so if you'd rather your child slept on a firmer, flatter surface, this may feel too soft.
