- Cover. A soft woven viscose cover creates a silky smooth finish. It's the first thing you'll feel, and it sets a gentle tone for the layers beneath.
- Pillow top. An additional comfort layer filled with natural alpaca wool, which means a more luxurious feel underneath you. The alpaca also helps with temperature regulation, useful if you tend to overheat at night.
- Latex. Latex is incredibly durable and returns to its shape quickly, offering superior pressure relief. In practice, that means less of a sinking feeling and easier movement when you change position.
- Wool. A natural insulator with strong temperature regulating properties. It works alongside the alpaca layer to keep the sleep surface closer to a comfortable temperature year round.
- Pocket Springs and Mini Pocket Springs. 4500 traditional pocket springs are combined with 2500 mini pocket springs, each individually cased. This provides personalised support along your body and reduces motion transfer, so a restless partner is less noticeable.

- Classic couples' footprint: At 135 x 190cm, or 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, the UK double leaves floor space for a wardrobe and drawers in a typical UK bedroom.
- Less disturbance at close quarters: The individually cased springs limit motion transfer, which helps at 67.5cm each, where you and your partner sleep closer together than on a UK king.
- Room for bedside tables: We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m, and around 3m x 3m is comfortable if you want a bedside table on each side.
- Easy bedding to find: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm duvet are widely stocked, although at 35.5cm deep you'll want deep fitted sheets.
- A generous guest bed: Visiting couples get a proper shared bed with natural wool and alpaca fillings, in a size most spare rooms can take.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night in a typical UK bedroom and still want space for bedside tables on both sides, or you're furnishing a guest room where visiting couples will stay.
Consider another size if...
You both like to spread out, or one of you feels cramped at a 190cm length. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which gives 75cm each; allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Sleepeezee Centurial 03 UK double wide enough for two people?
The UK double gives 67.5cm each when two people share. That suits most couples, and the combination of full-size and mini pocket springs helps limit movement across the bed. If either of you sleeps starfish-style, the UK king gives 75cm each, so you would each gain 7.5cm.
Will a Centurial 03 UK double fit in my bedroom with bedside tables?
We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double. If you want a bedside table on each side and space to walk round the bed, aim for around 3m x 3m, which is the comfortable norm for this size.
What fitted sheet do I need for a 35.5cm deep UK double mattress?
Look for a deep fitted double sheet. The mattress measures 135 x 190cm and is 35.5cm deep, so a standard-depth double sheet may struggle to tuck under. A 200 x 200cm double duvet covers the UK double well.
How much bigger is the Centurial 03 UK king than the UK double?
The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double, and gives 7.5cm more each for two sleepers. It needs more room too: we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king, compared with 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double.
Is the Centurial 03 in a UK double a good choice for a guest room?
It makes a comfortable bed for visiting couples, and a UK double suits most spare rooms. This is a premium mattress, though, so if the room is used only occasionally there are cheaper routes. Compare the prices shown on this page, which update as retailers change them.
