Layer Details
- Pillow Top Cover. An extra layer of plush fillings sits on top of the mattress, which means a softer, more cushioned first impression when you lie down. It's what separates the feel here from a standard medium firm mattress.
- Knitted Cover. A soft knitted cover that's breathable, helping to keep you at an even temperature through the night.
- iFibre Layer. Made from the separated fibres of memory foam, this layer increases the cooling effect. The aim is a comfortable sleeping temperature in both winter and summer.
- Knitted Mattress Panels. Knitted panels are more breathable than latex or memory foam, which means better airflow through the comfort layers. They contribute to the overall soft feel without trapping heat.
- Soft White Fibres. These fillings are 100% polyester, chosen for good recovery and durability. In practice that means the comfort layers should hold their shape rather than flattening quickly.
- 1000 Pocket Springs. Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket and moves independently, which means support tailored to where your body needs it. It also helps limit motion transfer if you share the bed.
Layer details from mattressnextday.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- The most personal space per sleeper: With 90cm each for two people sharing, you get 22.5cm more each than on the UK double, which means a partner's turning is far easier to sleep through.
- Independent springs across a wide surface: The 1000 pocket springs move independently, so a child climbing in on one side is less likely to jolt whoever is asleep on the other.
- Wider than a king, no longer: Moving up from the UK king adds 30cm of width at the same 200cm length, so the bed feels roomier without reaching further towards the door.
- In proportion with a large bedroom: In a high-ceilinged period bedroom or a big master, the 6ft width suits the room, where a UK king can look slightly undersized against the walls.
- Room for a dog that sleeps on the bed: If a large dog joins you most nights, the extra width gives it a patch of its own without pushing either of you towards the edge.
This size suits you if...
You share with a genuinely restless partner, your children or a large dog regularly end up in the bed, and your bedroom comfortably clears our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than 3m x 2.9m, or your door swing and landing turns are tight. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

How much space does each person get on a Sleepeezee Prestige Ortho Comfort UK super king?
Each of you gets 90cm when two people share. That is 15cm more each than the UK king and 22.5cm more each than the UK double, which makes a real difference if one of you moves a lot in the night.
Sleepeezee Prestige Ortho Comfort UK super king or UK king: which should I choose?
The UK super king is 30cm wider, and the two sizes are the same length. The comfort and support feel identical, so the decision comes down to space. Choose the UK super king if your room allows at least 3m x 2.9m. For a room nearer 2.7m x 2.9m, the UK king is the better fit.
Is a UK super king big enough for parents and young children to share?
It is the size we'd point families towards when children wander in at night. With 180cm of width, the adults keep a usable share of the bed. The independent pocket springs also help limit the bounce when a small person climbs in, although a sleeping child in the middle will still take up room.
Will a UK super king fit in a loft conversion bedroom?
It can, but a sloping ceiling usually decides which wall the bed goes against. Measure the floor area where you can sit up and stand comfortably, and plan from that figure rather than the full floor. Allow at least 3m x 2.9m, and around 3.5m x 3.2m if you want the room to feel right.
How much bigger is a UK super king than a UK double?
The UK super king is 45cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double. For two people sharing, that works out at 22.5cm more each. It needs more floor too: we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king, compared with 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double.
