- Pocket springs. 2,000 individual pocket springs arranged across two layers, which means the mattress responds to each part of your body separately rather than as one unit. You should feel support that follows your shape, with less roll-together for couples.

- Shared space that fits real rooms: At 135 x 190cm, the UK double gives a couple 67.5cm each while leaving floor space that a UK king would swallow in a typical bedroom.
- Less disturbance on a narrower bed: The 2,000 pocket springs move independently, which means that when your partner turns over on the UK double you should feel a little less of it.
- A modest room requirement: We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double, with around 3m x 3m giving you comfortable space to walk round.
- Easy to dress: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet are sold almost everywhere, so you won't have to hunt for bedding.
- Suits a guest room too: Visiting couples get a genuinely shared bed, and the medium firm feel should suit most guests without anyone having to adjust to a very soft or very hard surface.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed with a partner in a standard UK bedroom and want to keep bedside tables on both sides, or you're kitting out a spare room where visiting couples need somewhere proper to sleep.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner regularly wake each other or feel short of room at 67.5cm each. We'd recommend the UK king instead, and suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Is the SleepSoul Space 2000 UK double wide enough for two people?
For most couples, yes. The UK double gives you 67.5cm each, which is snug but workable. The pocket springs respond to each of you separately, so there's less roll-together than on an open coil mattress. If either of you sprawls, the UK king gives 75cm each.
Will a Space 2000 double fit my bedroom with bedside tables on both sides?
We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, with around 3m x 3m as the comfortable norm. Nearer that larger figure, you should have space for a small bedside table on each side and still get past the foot of the bed.
How much space do you lose with the Space 2000 double instead of the king?
The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king. Shared between two, that works out as 7.5cm less each. In return, the UK double needs less room: we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, against at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
Is the SleepSoul Space 2000 double long enough for tall sleepers?
The UK double is 190cm long, or 6ft 3in. If either of you finds your feet close to the end on your current double, the UK king is 10cm longer and may suit you better.
Is the Space 2000 in a double a good choice for a spare room?
It suits one well. The UK double takes up less of a second bedroom than a UK king, and the medium firm feel should suit most visitors. Lightweight side sleepers may find it slightly firm at the shoulder.
