- QuickRefresh™ cover. A cover with SmartCool™ technology that unzips all the way round and can be washed at 60°C. That makes it far easier to keep fresh than most mattress covers, which typically can't be removed at all.
- TEMPUR® Advanced Material. Sumptuously layered with TEMPUR® Advanced Material for what the brand calls its best-ever pressure relief. This slow-response foam contours closely to your body, which means pressure points at the hips and shoulders get real relief.

- Made for typical UK bedrooms: We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m, which most British doubles and master bedrooms in older houses comfortably clear.
- A firm feel that suits sharing: The extra firm build keeps the surface stable across its 135cm width, so a restless partner shifting position disturbs you less than on a bouncier bed.
- Room for bedside tables both sides: At 135cm wide rather than a UK king's 150cm, you're more likely to fit matching bedside tables and still open the wardrobe.
- Bedding is easy and cheap to find: Standard double sheets and a 200 x 200cm duvet fit, stocked everywhere at every price point.
- Low motion transfer in a shared size: TEMPUR® Advanced Material responds slowly rather than springing back, which means movement on one side barely travels across to the other.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and your room sits around the typical UK size, where a UK king would crowd out the furniture. It also suits a solo sleeper who wants proper room to spread out, or someone whose dog or cat has quietly claimed a corner. And if you're furnishing a guest room that hosts visiting couples, the UK double is the size they'll expect.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both want more personal space and your room can take a bigger bed. At 67.5cm each for two people sharing, the UK double can feel snug, so we'd recommend the UK king of this mattress instead.

Is a UK double Tempur Pro Luxe SmartCool Firm big enough for two adults?
Yes, for most couples. The UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and the firm, slow-response foam means you won't roll towards each other. Broad-shouldered pairs, or anyone who starfishes, may feel the limit. If your room allows, the UK king adds 15cm of width and 10cm of length.
Will the UK double fit my bedroom with bedside tables both sides?
In most rooms, yes. We suggest allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. The 135cm width leaves more clearance either side than a UK king would in the same room, which is usually the difference between fitting two bedside tables or one.
How heavy and awkward is the UK double to get upstairs?
Tempur doesn't publish a weight for this size, but 30cm of dense foam in a 135 x 190cm slab is a substantial thing to carry. Unlike rolled mattresses it arrives full size, so measure turning stairs in older terraces and tight new build landings before delivery day, and check the retailer's access guidance.
Should a taller sleeper choose the UK double or size up?
The UK double is 190cm long, the same as the UK single and UK small double. If you're around six foot or over, that can feel short, and the UK king is 10cm longer as well as 15cm wider. Tempur also makes long variants of this mattress, so check those before settling.
Is the double a good choice for a guest room?
It's the size visiting couples expect, and it fits spare rooms where a bigger bed would dominate. The one caveat is that this is an expensive, extra firm mattress that feels firmer still when new, a lot of mattress for occasional guests. For a bed used most nights, it makes far more sense.
