- Cover. An elegant damask cover with tailored handles and tape edging. The handles are a practical touch, as a mattress of this build is heavy to rotate.
- Natural fillings. Generous layers of natural fillings including British fleece wool, cotton, bamboo, cashmere, silk, alpaca and layered Shetland wool. Wool and silk regulate temperature naturally, which means fewer overheated nights than you would get from foam.
- Spring system. A double layer of Vispring pocket springs, individually nested in breathable cotton calico, 2,240 springs in all. Calico pockets allow air through and let each spring move independently, so you feel less of your partner's movement.
- Insulator pad. An integrated insulator pad ensures the Hartley performs consistently on both slatted bedsteads and sprung bases. In practice, that means less worry about whether your existing frame will suit it.

- Proper room for two: You get 75cm each for two sharing, which means fewer knocked elbows and knees when you both turn over in the night.
- Length for a taller partner: At 200cm long it is 10cm longer than the UK double, so a tall sleeper can stretch out fully.
- Fewer early-morning wake-ups: If one of you gets up hours before the other, the individually nested springs and extra width mean less movement reaches the partner still asleep.
- Steady support edge to edge: The listed Firm tension gives couples consistent support across the whole UK king, although lightweight side sleepers may find it a little solid at the shoulder.
- Easier on the bedroom than a super king: We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king, compared with 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and feel cramped on a UK double, one of you is tall enough to find 190cm limiting, or your working hours differ and you want less disturbance when one partner gets up early.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m, or you still want more room than 75cm each. We'd recommend the UK double for a tighter room, or the UK super king for extra width.

Is a Vispring Hartley UK king big enough for two people?
For most couples, yes. The UK king gives 75cm each for two sharing, which is 7.5cm more each than the UK double. If you both sprawl, or a child or dog regularly joins you, the UK super king gives 90cm each, although it needs a larger room.
Is the Vispring Hartley king size long enough for a tall partner?
At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, and that extra length is often the real reason couples with one taller partner size up. The UK super king is the same length, so you only need to go bigger if you want more width as well.
What size bedroom do I need for a Vispring Hartley UK king?
We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with 3.2m x 3.2m giving comfortable room to walk around both sides. For comparison, we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double and 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king.
Vispring Hartley UK king or super king: which should I choose?
The UK king is 30cm narrower than the UK super king and gives 15cm less each, while the length is identical. If your room comfortably clears 3m x 2.9m and you want maximum separation, go super king. Otherwise the UK king gives most couples plenty of space in a smaller footprint.
Will I feel my partner getting up on a Hartley king size?
Less than on a narrower bed. Each spring moves independently, so movement stays fairly local, and 75cm each in the UK king leaves more distance between you than the 67.5cm each of the UK double. That helps if one of you rises well before the other.
