Layer Details
- Upholstery, top layer. British fleece wool, hand-teased horsetail blended with real Shetland wool, silk and mohair, plus blended Shetland wool and cotton, all encased in high-quality ticking. These natural fibres wick moisture and allow airflow, which means a cooler, drier sleeping surface than synthetic alternatives.
- Springs. A two layer hand-nested calico pocket spring construction made from vanadium steel, with 2,520 springs in the 150 x 200cm size. Two layers of springs mean the upper layer contours to your shape while the lower layer provides deeper support.
- Borders. The borders are upholstered with protective coir and wool, finished with four rows of hand side-stitching. This means firmer edge support, so you can sit or sleep near the side without feeling you might roll off.

- 90cm of width each: Sharing a UK super king gives each of you 90cm, which means a partner's turning and shifting reaches you far less often than on a narrower bed.
- The largest size in this range: At 6ft x 6ft 6in, the UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, the biggest Vispring offers in the Sublime Superb.
- Space for extra sleepers: A child arriving at 3am or a large dog settling at the foot still leaves both adults a fair share of the mattress.
- Edges you can use: Four rows of hand side-stitching firm up the borders, which means the outer strip of all that width stays supportive rather than going to waste.
- Cooler with a crowded bed: The wool, horsetail, silk and mohair fillings let air move through, which helps when extra bodies in the bed would otherwise trap warmth.
This size suits you if...
Your partner is a genuinely restless sleeper and you want as much distance as a mainstream bed allows, or children and dogs share the bed often enough that a UK king feels crowded. It also suits you if your room is large, perhaps a period master bedroom, where a smaller bed would look lost.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which is 30cm narrower and needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Vispring Sublime Superb UK super king vs UK king: how much extra space do you get?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and both are the same length. For two people sharing, that is 15cm more each: 90cm on the UK super king against 75cm on the UK king. We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king and 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
Is the Vispring Sublime Superb super king big enough for a family bed?
For two adults plus a small child or a dog, usually yes. The full 6ft of width gives the adults 90cm each before anyone else climbs in. Because the hand-stitched borders stay supportive, whoever ends up near the side has usable mattress under them. A household with several children or large dogs will still find it busy.
Will a restless partner still disturb me on a Vispring Sublime Superb UK super king?
Much less than on a smaller bed. You each get 90cm, against 67.5cm each on the UK double, so there is 22.5cm more space between you. Pocket springs move individually, which helps, but on a UK super king the extra distance does most of the work in keeping a fidget's movement away from you.
Will a UK super king Vispring Sublime Superb fit a loft conversion bedroom?
Only if the floor area clears our suggested 3m x 2.9m and the bed can sit where you have standing headroom at both sides. In many loft rooms the sloping ceiling decides which wall the bed goes against. Measure the stair turns and the door swing too, as a handmade UK super king is a large, unwieldy item to manoeuvre.
Should I choose the Vispring Sublime Superb in a UK super king or a UK double?
The UK super king is 45cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double, giving each sharer 22.5cm more width. If you sleep alone or your room is modest, the UK double is the sensible fit, needing at least 2.6m x 2.8m against 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king.
