- Ticking. The outer cover is made from soft, finest quality ticking. It's the surface you'll actually feel through your sheets, so the softness matters more than it might sound.
- Fillings. Beneath the cover sit British fleece wool, cotton, horsetail and real Shetland wool. These natural fibres wick moisture and regulate temperature, which means less of the clammy warmth you can get with foam layers.
- Springs. The 5 foot size holds 2112 vanadium steel springs, each with 6 coils, hand-nested in calico pockets and topped with a wool protector pad. Because each spring works independently, the mattress contours to your shape and limits movement transferring across the bed.
- Borders. The wool-upholstered borders include air vents and handles. The vents help the natural fillings breathe, and the handles make turning the mattress far less of a struggle.

- Room to turn without colliding: At 75cm each for two sharing, you get 7.5cm more personal space than on the UK double, enough that elbows and knees stop meeting when you both roll over.
- Length for taller partners: The UK king runs to 200cm (6ft 6in), 10cm longer than a UK double, so a partner over six foot can lie straight without feet pressing past the edge.
- Early starts, fewer wake-ups: Because the 2112 springs in the UK king move separately, the partner who gets up first leaves the other half of the bed largely undisturbed.
- Fits where a super king won't: We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m, against 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king, which matters in main bedrooms once wardrobes go in.
- Handles for a heavy, handmade mattress: The wool-upholstered borders carry handles, which makes rotating a 150 x 200cm natural-filled mattress manageable, though a second pair of hands still helps.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and keep ending up on top of each other in a UK double, one of you is over six foot and runs out of length, or your working hours mean one of you is up and moving while the other is still asleep.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Vispring Superb king size good for couples who disturb each other?
It should help on two fronts. The UK king gives you 75cm each, 7.5cm more than the UK double, so there is simply more distance between you. The springs also sit in individual pockets, which limits how much one person's movement travels across to the other side when a partner turns over or gets up early.
Is a Vispring Superb UK king long enough for someone over 6ft?
For most people, yes. The UK king measures 200cm, which is 6ft 6in, and that is 10cm longer than the UK double. If one of you is tall, this extra length is often the bigger improvement over a double, more so than the extra width, because it stops feet pushing against or hanging past the end.
Vispring Superb king or super king: which should we choose?
The UK super king gives 90cm each for two sharing, so the UK king gives you 15cm less each. Both are 200cm long. If your room reaches our suggested 3m x 2.9m and you want maximum space, the UK super king makes sense. If your room is closer to 2.7m x 2.9m, the UK king is the better fit.
Will a Vispring Superb UK king fit in a new build master bedroom?
Measure the floor space left once wardrobes and drawers are in place, since new build bedrooms often feel smaller than the plans suggest. We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, with 3.2m x 3.2m feeling comfortable. Below that minimum, the UK double is the more practical choice.
Is a Vispring Superb king big enough for two people and a dog?
It depends on the dog. At 75cm each for two sharing, a small dog curled at the foot usually works on the UK king. A larger dog that stretches out will eat into someone's share every night. If that is your routine and your room allows it, the UK super king's 90cm each gives more slack.
