- Ticking. The outer cover is made from soft, finest quality ticking. It's the surface you'll actually feel through your sheets, so the softness matters more than it might sound.
- Fillings. Beneath the cover sit British fleece wool, cotton, horsetail and real Shetland wool. These natural fibres wick moisture and regulate temperature, which means less of the clammy warmth you can get with foam layers.
- Springs. The 5 foot size holds 2112 vanadium steel springs, each with 6 coils, hand-nested in calico pockets and topped with a wool protector pad. Because each spring works independently, the mattress contours to your shape and limits movement transferring across the bed.
- Borders. The wool-upholstered borders include air vents and handles. The vents help the natural fillings breathe, and the handles make turning the mattress far less of a struggle.
