Layer Details
- Spring Layer. A hand-nested calico pocket spring unit with 1,476 springs in the 150 x 200cm (5ft x 6ft 6in) size. Each spring works independently, which means your hips and shoulders get support exactly where they press down.
- Upholstery. Made exclusively from natural fillings: a British fleece wool spring protector pad, bonded British fleece wool and cotton, horsehair, and blended British fleece wool and cotton. These materials breathe and wick moisture, so the sleep surface stays temperate rather than trapping heat the way synthetic foams can.
- Ticking and Finishing. Finished in fine-quality ticking and hand tufted with felt washers. Tufting holds the fillings firmly in place, which means less settling and fewer lumps over the years.
- Borders. The borders are upholstered with protective wool and finished with two rows of hand side-stitching, horizontal handles and air vents. Side-stitching firms up the edges, so the mattress feels usable across its full width.
Layer details from vispring.com product page, September 2026.
- Room to settle apart: You each get 75cm of width, which means an elbow or a turned shoulder is less likely to land on your partner's side during the night.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 6ft 6in long, the UK king is 10cm longer than a UK double, so feet stay on the mattress rather than hanging over the end.
- Quieter early starts: Independent calico pockets across 1,476 springs keep movement local, so a partner leaving the bed hours before you should disturb you only slightly.
- Usable to the very edge: Hand side-stitched borders keep the sides supportive, which means the full 150cm width is space you can sleep on, not a soft margin you avoid.
- Cooler with two bodies: Wool, cotton and horsehair fillings let heat escape, a real help when two people share a bed and warm it up faster than one sleeper would.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and keep bumping into each other on a UK double, one of you is tall enough that length matters as much as width, or your working hours differ and you want to get up without waking your partner.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m. The UK double would suit you better, and we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double.

Is the Vispring Supreme UK king big enough for two adults?
For most couples, yes. The UK king gives you 75cm each, which is 7.5cm more per person than the UK double. That extra space is enough to stop most nightly bumping. If one of you sprawls or you often share with a child or a dog, the extra space may still feel a little tight.
Will a tall person fit on a Vispring Supreme in a UK king?
The UK king measures 5ft x 6ft 6in, which is 10cm longer than the UK double. For a taller sleeper that extra length is often the bigger gain than the width. The UK super king is the same length, so sizing up beyond the UK king adds width only, not length.
Does a UK king Vispring Supreme stop you feeling your partner move?
It helps in two ways. The pocket springs are sewn into individual calico pockets, so movement stays close to where it starts. The UK king also puts 75cm between you and the middle of the bed. Together these reduce disturbance noticeably, although a restless partner will still be felt slightly on any shared mattress.
Vispring Supreme UK king or UK super king for a couple?
The UK super king gives 90cm each, so the UK king gives 15cm less per person. The UK super king needs more floor space too: we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m, against 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king. If your room is tight, the UK king is the more comfortable fit.
Will a Vispring Supreme UK king fit in a new build master bedroom?
Check the room once your wardrobes are in, because new build bedrooms often lose more floor space than the plans suggest. We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, with 3.2m x 3.2m giving comfortable space. The horizontal handles on the borders help when you manoeuvre the mattress into place.
