- Ticking. The outer cover is made from soft, fine-quality ticking. It is the first thing you feel, and it is designed to be gentle against bedding and skin.
- Natural fillings. All the fillings are natural: British fleece wool, horse hair and cotton. Wool regulates temperature, horse hair adds resilient support, and cotton helps wick moisture away, which means a cooler, drier sleeping surface.
- Springs. Each spring has six coils and is hand-nested in its own calico pocket. This lets every spring respond independently to your body, which means better contouring and less motion transfer to a partner.
- Wool protector pad. A wool protector pad (5 foot size) sits over the springs. It cushions the fillings from the coils and adds another breathable natural layer.

It is the most realistic size of this mattress for that. The UK super king gives 90cm each to two sharing, so a small child tucked between you takes space without leaving either adult clinging to the edge. If it happens every night rather than occasionally, the extra width over a UK king makes a noticeable difference.
