Black Friday mattress deals 2026: which savings are real

Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Black Friday mattress deals are only real if they're cheaper than what the mattress cost in the weeks before, whatever the "was" price says. Some prices were cut from 30 September onwards. We check prices daily across our UK retail partners, so for each deal below you can see what the same mattress cost before the cut.
- Black Friday is on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November.
- On 19 October 2026, 456 of the 5,551 in-stock listings we compare were at least 5% below their usual price, and 441 were at least 5% above it.
- Our first pick on 19 October was Mattress Online's own Memory Zone 3000 Pocket, 27.3% below its usual price. The Tempur Pro Plus SmartCool Medium on Tempur's own shop was 25% below, and the Silentnight Miracoil Pillow Top at Dreams 20.1% below.
- Prices moved both ways from late September: on Eve's own shop, the Eve Premium double was £569 from 30 September and back at £949 on 14 October.
- In July 2026 the High Court ruled that whether a "was" price is genuine depends on several factors, in a case the CMA brought against Emma.
How we check whether a Black Friday deal is real
We compare each sale price with what the same mattress, in the same size, cost at the same retailer every day since 29 September 2026. That's when we started checking prices daily. The "was" price shown next to a deal is the retailer's own figure, and it doesn't always match what the retailer charged in the weeks before.
The usual price is the middle price over the previous 28 days, or since we first recorded the listing if that's more recent. Anything 5% or more under it counts as below its usual price. We also note whether today's price is the lowest we've seen since 29 September. Where we saw the same or a lower price before 29 September, we say so.
We haven't slept on these mattresses. The details for each one come from the manufacturer's or retailer's specification, and you can read more about how we assess mattresses. We earn commission from some retailers, and it never decides which deals appear or in what order: how we make money explains how that works.
Black Friday mattress deals at a glance
When we checked on 19 October 2026, 456 of the 5,551 in-stock mattress listings we compare were at least 5% below their usual price, by an average of 16.7%. Another 441 were at least 5% above it. Three days earlier, 286 were above. Since then, Feather & Black has put 138 prices back up, while Mattress Online and Furniture Village moved prices in both directions.
These were the biggest savings against the usual price on double mattresses that day, with no more than two from any one retailer. The table shows the price history behind each one.
| Mattress (double) | Retailer | Price on 19 October | Usual price | Saving | Lowest since 29 September? | Price history |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sleepeezee Deluxe 1000 Pocket | Mattress Online | £384 | £599 | 35.9% | Yes | £394 on 29 September, £599 from 2 October, £419 on 5 October, £599 from 6 October, £439 from 17 October, £384 from 19 October |
| Mattress Online Memory Zone 3000 Pocket | Mattress Online | £428 | £589 | 27.3% | Yes | £589 from 29 September, £428 from 19 October |
| Tempur Pro Plus SmartCool Medium | Tempur | £1,199 | £1,599 | 25.0% | Yes | £1,599 from 29 September, £1,199 from 16 October |
| Tempur Pro SmartCool Medium | Tempur | £1,099 | £1,399 | 21.4% | Yes | £1,399 from 29 September, £1,099 from 16 October |
| Silentnight Miracoil Pillow Top | Dreams | £239 | £299 | 20.1% | Yes | £299 from 5 October, when we first recorded it, £239 from 16 October |
| Sleepeezee Hybrid Pro Ortho | Furniture Village | £599 | £749 | 20.0% | Yes | £869 on 29 September, £749 from 5 October, £599 from 19 October |
Tempur had both of its mattresses in the table at the same prices at some point before 29 September. The other four were at the lowest prices we'd recorded for them. The Sleepeezee Deluxe 1000's big saving needs care, though: it was £394 on 29 September, only £10 more than on 19 October, and its usual price is high because it spent most of the time since at £599.
A sale price that holds long enough becomes the usual price. Furniture Village cut the Nectar Elite Cool Hybrid double from £849 to £649 on 5 October. By 19 October it had been £649 for longer than we'd seen it at £849, so £649 had become its usual price. That's why it isn't in the table, even though it was £200 less than on 29 September.
The best Black Friday mattress deals so far
We picked three deals from the table on 19 October, each from a different brand and with a different feel. They're ordered by the saving against the usual price. We left out the Sleepeezee Deluxe 1000, because its price on 29 September was within £10 of its price on 19 October.
1. Mattress Online Memory Zone 3000 Pocket: 27.3% below its usual price
The Memory Zone 3000 is Mattress Online's own mattress. Memory foam sits over 2,000 standard and 1,000 mini pocket springs, and a foam border firms up the edges so you can use the bed right to the side. It's 28cm deep, and Mattress Online describes it as soft to medium.
Mattress Online cut the double from £589 to £428 on 19 October, the lowest price we've recorded for it. Its comfort trial runs up to 100 nights and allows one exchange for a £49 fee, rather than a refund, and the mattress comes with a 5-year guarantee.
If you prefer a firm surface, or you're a heavier sleeper who needs more push-back, the soft to medium feel may let you sink further than you'd like. Hot sleepers should note there's no cooling layer listed. See the Mattress Online Memory Zone 3000 Pocket or more from Mattress Online.
2. Tempur Pro Plus SmartCool Medium on Tempur's own shop: 25% below its usual price
The Pro Plus SmartCool Medium uses TEMPUR Advanced Material, a slow-response foam that cradles your hips and shoulders rather than pushing back. Its QuickRefresh cover uses SmartCool technology, designed to keep the surface cooler. It's 25cm deep and rated medium, though it feels firmer in a cool room until your body heat softens it.
Tempur cut the double from £1,599 to £1,199 on its own shop on 16 October, along with the Firm and Soft versions. It was still £1,199 on 19 October. Tempur also charged £1,199 for it at some point before 29 September, so treat the cut as a return to an earlier price. If you buy direct, check Tempur's own trial and returns terms before you order.
It's still a premium buy after the cut. If you like a springy, responsive surface, or you change position often, slow-response foam can feel like hard work. For firm support, the Sleepeezee Hybrid Pro Ortho in the table is the firm option. See the Tempur Pro Plus SmartCool Medium or more from Tempur.
3. Silentnight Miracoil Pillow Top at Dreams: a pillow top for £239
The Miracoil Pillow Top puts a pillow top and a layer of memory foam over Silentnight's zoned Miracoil springs. The zoning gives firmer support where you carry more weight, and the springs are designed to reduce roll-together if you share a bed. It's 27cm deep and medium firm.
Dreams cut the double from £299 to £239 on 16 October, and it was still £239 on 19 October. That's the lowest price we've recorded for it since we first saw it there on 5 October. Silentnight offers a 60-night trial when you buy direct, plus a 5-year guarantee. Buy from Dreams and its own returns terms apply instead of that trial, so check them first.
If you prefer a soft, sink-in feel, the medium firm rating will probably feel too solid. Lightweight side sleepers may not press far enough into the memory foam to get its benefit. Pillow tops can't be flipped either, so you'll rotate it rather than turn it. See the Silentnight Miracoil Pillow Top or more from Silentnight.
Should you wait for Black Friday? Brand by brand
Waiting makes most sense for brands whose own prices hadn't moved by 19 October, such as Otty and Nectar. For the rest, prices moved both ways from retailer to retailer between 29 September and 19 October.
Emma
Emma's own price for the Emma Original double stayed the same from 29 September to 19 October. At Mattress Online, prices moved both ways: the Emma Original Pro double was cut on 8 October, while the standard Emma Original double went up on 6 and 8 October. If you're set on an Emma mattress, compare retailers before you decide to wait. See Emma's range.
Simba
None of the prices on Simba's own shop changed between 29 September and 19 October. Retailer offers came and went quickly. Bensons for Beds sold the Simba Hybrid double for £719.99 from 7 to 14 October before returning it to £899.99. Mattress Online's sale price on the same mattress on 29 September had ended by 2 October. See Simba's range.
Nectar
Only Furniture Village moved Nectar's prices between 29 September and 19 October, among the retailers we compare. Its cut to the Nectar Elite Cool Hybrid on 5 October was still in place on 19 October, while Nectar's own shop kept every price the same. See Nectar's range.
Eve
On Eve's own shop, the Eve Premium double dropped and rose again within a fortnight. It was £569 from 30 September until 14 October, when it went back to £949. Bensons for Beds had it at £569.40 from 10 to 14 October. If it's on your list, check its price again nearer Black Friday before paying £949. See Eve's range.
Tempur
On 16 October, Tempur cut prices on 57 listings on its own shop, including the two Tempur deals in the table. None had changed again by 19 October. The Tempur Ease 20cm double shows why the price matters more than the sale label. Tempur's own shop had it at £749 until 10 October, £1,199 from 11 October and £949 from 16 October. Bensons for Beds cut it to £748.99 on 7 October. The lowest price we found on 19 October was £699 at Mattress Next Day. It carried no sale price at all and hadn't changed since 29 September. See the Tempur Ease 20cm.
Silentnight and Hypnos
For Silentnight and Hypnos, the price depended on the retailer. Of the 763 Silentnight listings we compare, 47 were at least 5% cheaper on 19 October than on 29 September, and 40 were at least 5% dearer. For Hypnos, 41 were cheaper and 25 dearer, out of 305 listings. These counts leave out Dreams, whose prices we've only recorded since 5 October. With prices moving both ways, compare the retailers on your mattress's own page before you decide to wait.
Otty
All 53 Otty listings we compare kept the same price from 29 September to 19 October. Black Friday will show whether waiting pays off for an Otty mattress. See Otty's range.
When to buy a mattress around Black Friday
If a mattress you've already chosen is below its usual price now, waiting for Black Friday is a gamble. Since 29 September, several sales have lasted a week or two at most, including Simba at Bensons for Beds and Eve on its own shop. Some prices rose instead: Tempur's own price for the Tempur Ease 20cm double went from £749 to £1,199 on 11 October, then down to £949 on 16 October.
If you're still choosing, use the weeks before Black Friday to shortlist two or three mattresses and note their prices. That gives you your own record of the usual price, so you can judge any Black Friday deal against it.
What a "was" price has to mean
A "was" price has to be genuine, but UK law has no single fixed test for what makes it genuine. The High Court confirmed that in July 2026, in a case the CMA brought against Emma.
The court decided CMA v Emma Matratzen on 30 July 2026. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) wanted a fixed rule: at least one sale at the "was" price for every two at the discounted price. The court didn't agree.
The court found that whether a "was" price is genuine depends on several factors. They include how many sales were made at it and whether the seller genuinely believed it could sell at that price. Emma accepted that it shouldn't use a "was" price unless the mattress had been offered at it for at least as long as the discount.
In May 2026, according to the CMA's case page, Emma admitted that misleading countdown timers, false "high demand" messages and some discount claims had broken consumer law. It also gave undertakings. On the day of the judgment, the CMA temporarily withdrew its guidance for businesses selling mattresses online while it considers the ruling. Its case page hadn't been updated since 30 July when we checked on 16 October 2026.
Simba had agreed changes with the CMA in 2024, including making sure its "was" prices are genuine and its countdown clocks are clear (CMA, 2024). This summary of public sources isn't legal advice. If you think a sale price misled you, Citizens Advice can explain your options.
Before you buy a mattress in a sale
Check whose trial you're getting before you order. A brand's trial often applies only when you buy direct, and a retailer's returns window can be shorter, with different conditions. Our guide to buying a mattress online or in store covers the legal right to cancel an online order within 14 days of delivery. It also explains what that means for a mattress you've unwrapped.
Savings on other sizes can differ from the doubles above, so check your size on the mattress's own page. For the year-round picture, see our guide to UK mattress deals and retailers.
The Mattress Unboxed verdict
Buy now if the mattress you want is below its usual price and at the lowest price we've seen since 29 September. Several sales since then ended within days, and Black Friday isn't guaranteed to beat them. Wait if you're still choosing, or if your shortlist includes a brand whose own prices didn't move between 29 September and 19 October, such as Otty or Nectar. Black Friday will show whether they drop. Either way, judge a deal by the price before it, not the "was" price beside it.
Frequently asked questions
Buying a mattress in the Black Friday sales.
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday follows on Monday 30 November. Some of the mattress price cuts we saw this year began on 30 September, weeks before either date.
Do mattresses really get cheaper on Black Friday?
A sale label alone won't tell you, because a sale price isn't always lower than what the mattress cost a few weeks earlier. On 19 October 2026, 790 in-stock mattress listings we compare carried a sale price. For 575 of them, the price wasn't at least 5% below the usual price since 29 September.
Should I wait until Black Friday to buy a mattress?
Not if the mattress you want is already below its usual price, because several sale prices we've seen since 29 September lasted a week or two at most. If you're still deciding, or the brand you want didn't change its own prices between 29 September and 19 October, waiting for Black Friday makes more sense.
How can I tell if a mattress deal is genuine?
Compare the sale price with what the same mattress cost at the same retailer over the previous few weeks, not with the "was" price. If the price rose shortly before the sale, the saving is smaller than it looks. In this year's High Court case, Emma accepted that a "was" price needs to have been offered for at least as long as the discount.
Is Cyber Monday better than Black Friday for mattresses?
We can't say yet, because we started checking prices daily on 29 September 2026 and haven't seen a Black Friday weekend. Rather than holding out for one date, check whether the price on the day is below the mattress's usual price.
