- Comfort fillings. Cashmere and wool fillings give a luxuriously soft, gentle natural feel with breathability and moisture-wicking, which means you're less likely to overheat. They regulate temperature naturally across the seasons.
- Support system. 2,000 pocket springs, each encased in its own cloth pocket, adapt to your movement individually. That translates to personalised support and better weight distribution than springs that move as a single unit.

- The classic shared size: At 135 x 190cm (4ft 6in x 6ft 3in), the UK double gives couples a comfortable shared surface in a footprint most bedrooms handle easily.
- Motion isolation matters more when sharing: The 2,000 individually pocketed springs respond to each sleeper separately, which means less disturbance when your partner turns over on a 135cm width.
- Two warm bodies, natural temperature control: Sharing a double raises the heat under the duvet, and the cashmere and wool fillings wick moisture to keep the surface fresher through the night.
- Room for furniture on both sides: We suggest a minimum room of 2.6m x 2.8m, which in most bedrooms still leaves space for bedside tables either side.
- Easy to dress: Standard double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet fit, both stocked everywhere at every price point.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed most nights and your bedroom is a typical UK size, where a bigger bed would crowd the walkways. It also suits a guest room that hosts visiting couples, since the medium feel works for a range of guests. And if you sleep alone but like space to spread out, or share the bed with a dog or cat who claims a corner, 135cm is a comfortable amount of room.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both want more personal space, since 67.5cm each for two people sharing is the practical minimum. If your room allows at least 2.7m x 2.9m, we'd recommend the UK king of this mattress instead.

Is the Aspire Natural Cashmere 2000 in a UK double big enough for a couple?
For most couples, yes. The UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing, which has been the British standard for decades. The 2,000 pocket springs help here, isolating movement so a restless partner disturbs you less. Couples who both sprawl, or share with a pet, may prefer the UK king, which is 15cm wider and 10cm longer.
What room size do you need for the Aspire Natural Cashmere in a UK double?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That allows for the 135 x 190cm mattress plus walkways and bedside tables on both sides. If you're squeezing it into a first flat or a second bedroom alongside a wardrobe and drawers, measure the floor plan before you commit.
Should couples choose the Aspire Natural Cashmere in a UK double or a UK king?
It comes down to your room. The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, so it fits comfortably where a king would dominate. If your bedroom offers at least 2.7m x 2.9m and you both value personal space, the UK king is the better long-term buy. In a smaller room, the UK double wins.
How does the UK double compare with the small double version?
The UK double is 15cm wider than the UK small double, and both are the same length at 190cm. That extra width is significant for two people sharing every night. The UK small double suits a solo sleeper in a compact room, and we suggest at least 2.4m x 2.8m for it. For regular couples, the UK double is the safer choice.
Does the UK double Aspire Natural Cashmere work in a guest room?
It's a sensible guest room pick. The UK double accommodates visiting couples and solo guests alike, and the medium feel suits a broad range of sleepers, though lighter side sleepers may find it slightly firm. The natural cashmere and wool fillings also mean the bed stays fresh between visits. Compare the retailers listed on this page for current pricing.
