- Soft White Fibres. Plush polyester fibres sit just above the springs and shape gently around your body, which means a soft initial feel before you reach the support beneath. They are made with 70% recycled single-use plastic.
- Pocket+ Springs. 1000 springs nestled in individual pockets move independently, so pressure is spread across your body rather than the whole surface dipping. The Pocket+ design uses thicker wires and specially angled coils, with an extra layer of springs on top to compensate for depth lost when the mattress is rolled.

- Fits most UK bedrooms: At 135 x 190cm it sits comfortably in a room of 2.6m x 2.8m or more, our suggested minimum, leaving space to walk around.
- Room for two, disturbance for neither: Two sharers get 67.5cm each, and the individually pocketed springs move independently, so one of you turning over is less likely to wake the other.
- Bedside tables on both sides: In a typical double room this width usually still allows a table each side of the bed, something a UK king often rules out.
- Sensible for a guest room: The medium firm feel suits most visiting sleepers, and a UK double means couples can stay without anyone taking the sofa.
- Easy to dress cheaply: Double sheets and 200 x 200cm duvets are stocked everywhere at every price, useful if you're kitting out a whole home at once.
- Arrives rolled: The mattress comes compressed and rolled, which makes the turn on a narrow terrace staircase or a tight new build landing far less of a battle.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the traditional couples' size rather than something that dominates the room, your bedroom is around our suggested 2.6m x 2.8m minimum or a little more, or you're furnishing a first flat or guest room and need a shareable bed at a modest spend.
Consider another size if...
You or your partner are broad shouldered or tall and 67.5cm each feels tight. We'd recommend the UK king instead, 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double, if your room allows at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Aspire Pocket+ 1000 in a UK double big enough for a couple?
For most couples, yes. You get 67.5cm each when two people share, and because the 1000 springs sit in individual pockets they move independently, so a restless partner disturbs you less. If either of you is notably broad or tall, the UK king adds 15cm of width and 10cm of length and may be the better fit.
What room size do you need for the Aspire Pocket+ 1000 UK double?
We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That's our guidance rather than Aspire's, and it allows for doors, drawers and getting in on both sides. Measure with your wardrobe and chest of drawers in mind, particularly in a smaller second bedroom.
Will the UK double fit with bedside tables on both sides?
In most rooms at or above our suggested 2.6m x 2.8m minimum, yes. The 135cm width leaves more clearance either side than a UK king would in the same space, so a slim table each is usually realistic. Sketch your layout first if the room also needs a wardrobe along one wall.
Is the UK double Aspire Pocket+ 1000 easy to get upstairs?
Easier than most doubles, because it arrives compressed and rolled rather than as a rigid 135 x 190cm slab. That matters in older terraces with turning staircases or new builds with tight landings. Once unrolled it expands to its full size and 23cm depth, so move it to the right room before opening it.
Does the UK double suit a guest room?
It's a sensible guest room choice. The size takes visiting couples as well as solo guests, and the medium firm feel is a safe middle ground when you can't predict who'll be sleeping on it. The modest price helps too when the bed will only see occasional use, and you can compare the retailers listed on this page for the current cost.
