- Soft White Fibres. Plush polyester fibres sit just above the springs and shape gently around your body, which means a soft initial feel before you reach the support beneath. They are made with 70% recycled single-use plastic.
- Pocket+ Springs. 1000 springs nestled in individual pockets move independently, so pressure is spread across your body rather than the whole surface dipping. The Pocket+ design uses thicker wires and specially angled coils, with an extra layer of springs on top to compensate for depth lost when the mattress is rolled.

- Real room for one: The UK small double is 30cm wider than the UK single, which means a solo adult can stretch, roll and starfish without an elbow off the edge.
- Fits compact bedrooms: It's 15cm narrower than the UK double, so it works in box rooms and studio flats where every centimetre of floor matters.
- Independent springs, shared occasionally: The 1000 individually pocketed springs move on their own, which means a visiting couple won't roll into each other on the odd shared night.
- An easy step up for teenagers: For a teenager who has outgrown a UK single, the extra width feels grown up without demanding a bigger room.
- Standard 4ft bedding: Small double is a standard UK size, so fitted sheets and frames are easy to find, and the 23cm depth means shallower sheets fit neatly.
This size suits you if...
You sleep alone and want more width than a UK single without giving up floor space, you're furnishing a guest room or holiday let where couples stay occasionally rather than nightly, or you're buying for a teenager who has outgrown their single but whose room can't take a bigger bed.
Consider another size if...
You share the bed every night, in which case 120cm across two people gets snug. We'd recommend the UK double instead, allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m of room space.

Is the Aspire Pocket+ 1000 small double big enough for a couple?
For occasional nights, yes. The pocketed springs move independently, so one person shifting won't jolt the other, which helps on a narrower mattress. For every night, though, 120cm of width is tight for two adults, and we'd point regular couples towards the UK double, which is 15cm wider.
What room size do I need for a small double mattress?
We suggest allowing at least 2.4m x 2.8m. That leaves enough space to walk round the bed and open the door comfortably. It's a genuinely useful size for box rooms and loft conversions where a UK double, needing at least 2.6m x 2.8m by our guidance, would dominate the floor.
What size is the Aspire Pocket+ 1000 in a UK small double?
It measures 120 x 190cm, which is 4ft x 6ft 3in. That makes it the same length as a UK single but 30cm wider. Note it's shorter than a UK king by 10cm, so if you're tall and have the room, sizing up brings extra length as well as width.
Should I choose the small double or the double Aspire Pocket+ 1000?
It comes down to who sleeps in it and where. Sleeping solo in a compact room, the UK small double gives you generous space without crowding the walls. Sharing nightly, the UK double's extra 15cm of width earns the bigger footprint. Compare the retailers listed on this page for current pricing on both.
Is the small double a good guest room size?
Yes, arguably its best use. Solo guests get plenty of room, occasional couples can share for a night or two, and the frame leaves space for a wardrobe or desk the rest of the year. The medium firm feel is a safe middle ground for guests whose preferences you don't know.
