Layer Details
- Knitted cover. A soft knitted top that adds cosiness and warmth while allowing enhanced airflow. In practice, that means a gentler first touch without trapping quite as much heat as some foam mattress covers.
- Memory Foam. A 3cm comfort layer that adapts to the contours of your body and moulds to your shape, which means pressure points like hips and shoulders get some cushioning. It's a fairly slim layer, so the firm base makes itself felt through it.
- Reflex Foam. A 17cm supportive base that is durable and resilient, holding its shape over an extended period. This is where the firm feel comes from, and it should keep the mattress performing consistently for longer.

- 90cm each, every night: Two sharers get 90cm each, which means a partner who turns constantly is far enough away to stop waking you.
- Firm support across the full width: The 17cm reflex foam base keeps its shape edge to edge, so neither sleeper rolls towards the middle on such a wide surface.
- Room for the whole household: When a child or a large dog joins you before dawn, 180cm of width means everyone still gets a workable share.
- Foam absorbs movement: Memory foam damps motion rather than bouncing it across the bed, and at this width the distance does the rest.
- Fits a larger master properly: In a big period bedroom or new build master where a UK king looks lost, the 180 x 200cm footprint sits in proportion.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the maximum separation a standard UK size offers, your partner is genuinely restless and distance matters more to you than any comfort layer, or children and pets treat your bed as theirs and you'd rather absorb them than evict them. Your room should measure at least 3m x 2.9m, with around 3.5m x 3.2m feeling more comfortable.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum, or you'd rarely use the extra width. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 30cm narrower, the same length, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Is the Bodyshape Ortho super king good for restless partners?
It's one of the better pairings for the money. Memory foam absorbs movement rather than transmitting it, and with 90cm each for two people sharing, a fidgeting partner is simply further away. The firm reflex foam base also keeps each side stable, so you shouldn't feel yourself pulled towards their dip.
How much bigger is the super king than the UK king in this mattress?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length, both 200cm. That extra width is what makes room for a wandering child or a dog without anyone hanging off the edge. You'll need a bigger room though: we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king.
Is a super king Bodyshape Ortho suitable for co-sleeping with children?
Yes, within reason. At 180cm wide there's space for a small visitor between two adults without anyone ending up on the edge, and the firm surface makes it easy for little ones to move around on. The 20cm depth is modest, but at this width it's space, rather than depth, doing the work.
Does the firm feel hold up across the full width of the super king?
It should. The 17cm reflex foam base is the same resilient material from edge to edge, so a heavier and a lighter partner each get consistent support on their own side. There's no zoning or split firmness, though, so if you and your partner want different feels on each half, this isn't the mattress for that.
Where can I buy the Bodyshape Ortho in a UK super king?
Compare the retailers listed on this page. The prices shown here are updated as retailers change them, so it's worth checking back before you commit, as stock and pricing on the UK super king can shift more often than on the smaller sizes.
