Knitted cover
A soft knitted finish that adds cosiness and warmth. It also helps airflow and breathability, which means a slightly cooler night's sleep.
Soft White Fibres
Soft synthetic polyester fillings that create a cosy top feel. They're durable and resilient, holding their shape and quality over time.
Traditional Open Coil Springs
Interlaced springs joined together in a lattice design, which means your weight is distributed evenly across the mattress. This relieves built-up pressure and supports spinal alignment.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 75cm each, every night: Two people sharing get 75cm each, roughly a single's worth of personal space per person, so you can settle in your own position without negotiating.
- Width softens the motion transfer: Interlaced open coils do carry movement across the surface, but at 150cm wide there's simply more mattress between you when one partner turns over.
- 200cm of length for taller sleepers: The UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which means anyone approaching six foot stops waking with their feet at the edge.
- Kinder to different schedules: If one of you leaves for work hours before the other, the extra width gives the early riser room to slip out with less disturbance.
- Firm support across the full width: The lattice of joined springs spreads weight evenly right across the 150cm surface, so the middle doesn't dip when two people share.
- The largest size Bodyshape makes: This is the biggest size the Vitality comes in, so couples wanting the most space this mattress offers should choose the UK king.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel like a compromise, especially with one of you turning over on springs the other can feel. Or one partner is over six foot and it's the length, that extra 10cm over a UK double, you're really buying. It also suits couples on different schedules who want room to get up without waking the other.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, which is common in new builds once wardrobes go in. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Bodyshape Vitality in a UK king good for couples?
It's a sensible budget pick for two, with 75cm each for two people sharing and even support from the interlaced coil lattice. One caveat: open coils transfer more movement than pocket springs, so a light sleeper will notice a restless partner more than on a pocket sprung king, although the extra width does soften this.
How much bigger is the UK king than the double in this mattress?
The UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double and 10cm longer too, at 150 x 200cm against the double's 135 x 190cm. The width is what couples feel night to night; the length is the quiet bonus for anyone tall enough to reach the foot of a standard double.
Will a UK king Bodyshape Vitality fit in my bedroom?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, which leaves walking space on both sides and room for bedside tables. Measure with wardrobes and drawers in place rather than the empty floor, as a new build master can feel tight once furniture is in.
Is the king size Vitality long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm, or 5ft x 6ft 6in in imperial, it gives a sleeper over six foot clear room before their feet reach the edge. For a tall partner moving up from a UK double, the 10cm of extra length is often the more noticeable change, more so than the width.
Does the Vitality come in anything bigger than a king?
No. The UK king, at 150 x 200cm, is the largest size Bodyshape makes this mattress in, so there's no super king option. If you want the most sleeping space the Vitality offers, this is it; compare the retailers listed on this page, as the prices shown are updated when retailers change them.
