- 75cm each for two people sharing: That extra personal space means a partner shifting position on this soft, cushioned surface is far less likely to pull you out of your own sleep.
- Pocket springs across a wider bed: The 1,000 pocket springs move independently, so if one of you gets up hours before the other, the movement stays on their side of the 150cm width.
- 200cm of length for taller sleepers: The UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a real difference if either of you is approaching six foot and tired of feet hanging off the end.
- Room to rearrange in the night: During pregnancy or recovery from injury, when you're propping pillows and changing position often, the added width keeps that shuffling from disturbing whoever shares the bed.
- A gentle feel that suits sharing: Medium soft support follows each sleeper's shape separately, so two different body weights can share the same mattress without either compromising.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, one of you keeps different hours and you want their comings and goings kept to their side, or one of you is tall enough to appreciate the 200cm length. It also suits couples who like this mattress's soft, sink-in feel and want enough width that sinking in doesn't mean rolling together.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone and don't need the width. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs a smaller room at around 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is a UK king wide enough for a couple on a medium soft mattress?
Yes, comfortably for most. The UK king gives 75cm each for two people sharing, and because the Cotton Pocket 1000 is medium soft, that margin is useful: you sink in a little, so having clear space of your own stops you drifting into your partner's dip. Lighter couples in particular should find it generous.
Will the king size Cotton Pocket 1000 reduce partner disturbance?
It should help on two fronts. The 1,000 pocket springs respond to each sleeper independently, so an early alarm on one side transmits less through the mattress. The width does the rest: at 150cm across there's enough distance between you that turning over, or a dog claiming its usual spot, is easier to sleep through.
Is the UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, and that length is often the real reason taller sleepers upgrade. On a medium soft mattress like this one, where you settle into the surface rather than perch on top, having your feet fully on the bed makes a noticeable difference to comfort.
What room size do I need for this mattress in a king?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with around 3.2m x 3.2m feeling properly comfortable. Measure carefully in a new build master bedroom: they can look spacious empty, then feel tight once wardrobes go in. If the numbers are marginal, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and is 15cm narrower.
Should I choose the king or super king Cotton Pocket 1000?
The UK king is 30cm narrower than the UK super king, though both are the same 200cm length, so sizing up buys width rather than legroom. If a pet routinely shares the bed or you both sprawl, the UK super king is tempting, but it needs at least 3m x 2.9m of room. For most couples the UK king is the practical middle ground.
