- 90cm each for two sharing: That is a single bed's worth of width per person, which means a partner turning over happens somewhere over there rather than right beside you.
- Distance plus independent springs: The 1,000 pocket springs move individually, and combined with the extra width a restless sleeper becomes genuinely easy to ignore.
- Space when the family joins you: A child padding in at 3am, or a dog who treats the bed as routine, no longer means someone sleeping on the edge.
- Fills a large master properly: In a period property or generous new build main bedroom, a UK king can look a little lost; the 6ft x 6ft 6in footprint sits in proportion.
- A gentle feel at full scale: The medium soft, cotton and chenille finish suits side sleepers who like to settle into the surface, here with room to spread out while doing it.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the most sleeping space a standard UK size offers, your partner is restless enough that distance matters more than any comfort layer, or children and pets regularly end up in the bed and everyone still needs their share. It also makes sense if you have a large master bedroom where a UK king would look undersized.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 3m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum, or the bed would be mostly for one person. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m and is the same length.

What room size do I need for the Cotton Pocket 1000 in a super king?
We suggest a room of at least 3m x 2.9m for a UK super king, and that is our guidance rather than the manufacturer's. That leaves enough space to walk round the bed and open drawers. If your room falls short, the UK king is 30cm narrower, the same length, and needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m by our reckoning.
Is the UK super king Cotton Pocket 1000 good for couples with a restless partner?
It is one of the better cases for this size. The 1,000 pocket springs respond to each sleeper independently, so movement transfers less than it would through a linked coil unit, and with 90cm each for two people sharing there is simply more distance between you. A partner shifting position tends to go unnoticed.
How much bigger is the super king than the king in this mattress?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length. That extra width is the whole argument for sizing up: it is what makes room for a child who wanders in at night, or a dog who has claimed a corner, without anyone losing their share.
Will a super king Cotton Pocket 1000 get up my stairs?
This is the size where access deserves a proper check before you order. Measure your staircase, any landing turns and the bedroom door swing against the 180 x 200cm mattress. Pocket spring mattresses like this one do not fold, so a tight turn can be a genuine obstacle rather than a squeeze.
What bedding does this size need?
Super king sheets throughout, and we would pair it with a 260 x 220cm duvet so both sleepers get proper coverage. Bedding at this size does cost more than king equivalents, which is fair to factor in alongside the mattress itself, and the prices shown on this page update as retailers change them.
