- 90cm of width each: Two people sharing get 90cm apiece, which means a partner who turns over every ten minutes is far enough away to sleep through.
- Springs that stay on their own side: Pocket springs move independently, which means movement on one half of this 180cm width barely registers on the other.
- Space for company: When a child wanders in at 3am or the dog treats the bed as routine, a super king means nobody ends up clinging to the edge.
- Fills a large master properly: In a period property or generous new build master, a UK king can look lost, while the 6ft x 6ft 6in footprint sits in proportion.
- Full 200cm length: At 200cm long, taller sleepers get the same extra length as a UK king, with 30cm more width on top.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the maximum space a standard UK size offers, your sleep is regularly broken by a partner who fidgets, or children and pets join you often enough that a UK king feels crowded. It also makes sense if you have a large master bedroom where a smaller mattress would look undersized.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 3m x 2.9m minimum we suggest for a UK super king. The UK king of the Grand Duke would suit you better, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for that size.

Is the Grand Duke super king big enough for a family sharing the bed?
It is the most realistic size for it. Two adults get 90cm each, so when a child climbs in during the night there is genuine room to shuffle over rather than a fight for the edge. Large dogs who share as routine are also easier to accommodate at 180cm wide than on anything smaller.
How much bigger is the super king Grand Duke than the king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK King, and the two sizes are the same length at 200cm. All the extra space goes across the bed, which is exactly where sharing couples feel it. If length is your only concern, the UK king already gives you the full 200cm.
Will the Grand Duke in a UK super king fit my bedroom?
We suggest a minimum of 3m x 2.9m, with around 3.5m x 3.2m feeling comfortable once you add bedside tables and walking space. Also check door swing and any tight landing turns, as a 180 x 200cm mattress is awkward on stairs. In a loft conversion, the slope will decide which wall it takes.
Does a super king actually help with a restless partner?
Yes, and on this mattress you get two things working together. The pocket springs respond to each sleeper separately, so movement transfers less across the bed, and the 90cm of width each puts real distance between you. At this size, distance does more for broken sleep than any comfort layer can.
Is the super king the largest size the Grand Duke comes in?
Yes, the UK super king is the largest standard UK size in the range, at 180 x 200cm, or 6ft x 6ft 6in. The Grand Duke also comes in EU sizes, which is useful if you have a continental frame, but nothing in the range is wider than this.
