Layer Details
Knitted cover
A soft knitted finish that adds a little cosiness and warmth. It also enhances airflow and breathability, which helps you sleep cooler.
Copper layer
A thin layer of pure copper that is highly conductive, drawing excess heat away from your body as you sleep. Copper is also naturally antimicrobial, a reassuring bonus for allergy-conscious sleepers.
Memory Foam
30mm of memory foam that cradles your body shape, which means pressure points like hips and shoulders get some relief. It's a modest layer, in keeping with the firm feel.
Reflex Foam
Layers of reflex foam that add support and protect the spring system beneath. This section also includes foam encapsulated edge support, so the sides stay stable when you sit or sleep near the edge.
Pocket Springs
A core of 2000 pocket springs, each encased in its own fabric pocket. They respond individually to weight and movement, which means responsive support and less disturbance from a restless partner.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- A footprint most bedrooms can take: At 135 x 190cm (4ft 6in x 6ft 3in), it fits comfortably in rooms where a UK king would crowd the walls.
- Room for bedside tables on both sides: Allow at least 2.6m x 2.8m and most couples can still keep a table and lamp each, which a wider bed often rules out.
- Cooling matters more when sharing: Two bodies generate more heat than one, and the copper layer is designed to draw that warmth away rather than let it build between you.
- Less partner disturbance at this width: With 67.5cm each for two people sharing, the individually responding pocket springs help one restless sleeper move without waking the other.
- Usable right to the sides: Foam encapsulated edge support means both of you can sleep near your own edge without feeling tipped off, which counts in a shared 135cm width.
This size suits you if...
You're a couple in a typical UK bedroom and want a firm, cool-sleeping bed that leaves space to walk around it, or you sleep alone and want spreading-out room, perhaps with a dog or cat claiming a corner. It also suits a guest room that hosts visiting couples, where a firm feel works for a wide range of sleepers.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner are both restless or broad-shouldered and 67.5cm each feels tight. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which is 15cm wider and 10cm longer; allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m of room for it.

Is the Copper Fresh Envy Supreme double big enough for two adults?
For most couples, yes. The UK double is 135cm wide, giving 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and the firm feel plus 2000 individual pocket springs keep movement from travelling across the bed. If either of you is tall or sleeps spread out, the UK king adds 15cm of width and 10cm of length.
What room size do I need for the Copper Fresh Envy Supreme in a UK double?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m. That leaves walking space around the 135 x 190cm mattress and, in most rooms, enough wall for bedside tables on both sides. In a smaller second bedroom already holding a wardrobe and drawers, measure carefully before committing to this size.
Should a couple choose the Copper Fresh Envy Supreme in a double or a king?
The UK double suits couples in typical UK bedrooms who want floor space left over. The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer, so it's the better pick for restless pairs or anyone over 6ft 3in, but it needs a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m to breathe.
Is the double a good size for a guest room?
It's arguably the safest guest room choice, since it sleeps visiting couples as well as solo guests, and this mattress's firm feel suits back and front sleepers of most weights. The copper cooling layer is a quiet bonus for guests you can't ask about temperature preferences in advance.
Will a UK double fit up a narrow staircase?
Usually, yes. At 135cm wide and 25cm deep, this is one of the easier sizes to turn on the tight landings of older terraces and new builds alike. As a hybrid with a pocket spring core it won't fold like an all-foam roll-up, so measure any awkward turns first.
