Layer Details
Knitted cover
A soft knitted finish that adds a little cosiness and warmth. It also enhances airflow and breathability, which helps you sleep cooler.
Copper layer
A thin layer of pure copper that is highly conductive, drawing excess heat away from your body as you sleep. Copper is also naturally antimicrobial, a reassuring bonus for allergy-conscious sleepers.
Memory Foam
30mm of memory foam that cradles your body shape, which means pressure points like hips and shoulders get some relief. It's a modest layer, in keeping with the firm feel.
Reflex Foam
Layers of reflex foam that add support and protect the spring system beneath. This section also includes foam encapsulated edge support, so the sides stay stable when you sit or sleep near the edge.
Pocket Springs
A core of 2000 pocket springs, each encased in its own fabric pocket. They respond individually to weight and movement, which means responsive support and less disturbance from a restless partner.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 75cm each, every night: Two people sharing get 75cm of width apiece, so you can both change position without negotiating for territory.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm long, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK Double, a genuine relief if one of you is approaching six foot.
- Movement stays on your side: The 2000 pocket springs respond individually, and across the UK king's width that means one partner getting up early is far less likely to wake the other.
- Usable right to the edges: Foam encapsulated edge support means the full 150cm width is sleepable, so neither of you feels perched when pushed towards the side.
- Cooler sharing: Two bodies raise the temperature under one duvet, and the copper layer draws that heat away rather than letting it build.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel like a compromise, especially if one of you leaves for work hours before the other and you want their alarm-clock shuffle to stay on their side. It also suits couples where one partner is tall, since the extra 10cm of length over a standard double stops feet hanging off the end.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, or you sleep alone. In either case we'd recommend the Copper Fresh Envy Supreme in a UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Copper Fresh Envy Supreme UK king wide enough for a couple?
Yes, comfortably for most. At 150cm wide it gives 75cm each for two people sharing, and the foam encapsulated edges mean that width is usable right to the sides. If a pet routinely joins you and takes more than its share, the UK super king is 30cm wider and worth a look.
What room size do I need for the Copper Fresh Envy Supreme in a UK king?
We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m, which leaves room to walk round the bed and open drawers. That is tighter than it sounds in a new build master bedroom once fitted wardrobes go in, so measure the usable floor space rather than the room on the plan.
How much bigger is the UK king than the UK double in this mattress?
The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double. The width is what couples notice night to night, while the length matters if either of you is tall. In imperial terms the UK king measures 5ft x 6ft 6in.
Will the Copper Fresh Envy Supreme UK king suit a tall sleeper?
On length, yes. At 200cm it is 10cm longer than a UK double, which usually settles the feet-off-the-end problem for anyone around six foot. The firm feel also suits back and front sleepers well, although lightweight side sleepers may find it a little unyielding at the shoulder.
Does a UK king help if my partner and I keep different schedules?
It helps on two fronts. The 75cm of width each puts more distance between you, and the 2000 pocket springs compress individually, so someone climbing out at 5am transfers less movement across the bed. It is one of the better size choices for couples on mismatched shifts.
