- Emma cover. A cover that's gentle on your skin and completely removable. It machine washes at 40°C, which means keeping the sleep surface fresh is genuinely easy.
- MemoryAdapt Foam. This enhanced foam moulds to your body's unique shape and distributes your weight evenly. In practice, that eases pressure points and keeps you comfortably supported.
- Soft foam layer. An upgraded soft foam that gently adapts to your body from the very first moment. It helps ease pressure points and makes it easier to settle into a comfortable position.
- SupportBase. SupportBase cushions your body and eases strain on sensitive pressure points. It also creates a smooth transition to the core layers, so you shouldn't feel any abrupt change in firmness as you sink in.
- Spring system. The springs are divided into 5 targeted zones that adapt to you head-to-toe. A new comfort foam edge improves support towards the sides of the mattress.
- Bottom cover. This layer anchors the mattress and grips your bed frame. That means less sliding about when you change the sheets or shift position at night.

- 75cm each for two people sharing: That's genuine room to roll over or starfish slightly without waking your partner, a difference you notice most on restless nights.
- Foam layers keep movement quiet: The MemoryAdapt Foam absorbs motion rather than bouncing it across the bed, so a partner leaving hours before you is less likely to wake you.
- 200cm of length for taller sleepers: The UK king adds length as well as width over the UK double, so feet stay on the mattress rather than hanging off the end.
- 5-zone springs across the full width: Two sleepers of different weights each get targeted support in their own half, which means one heavier partner doesn't tilt the whole surface.
- Comfort foam edge on a wider footprint: Firmer support towards the sides means you can use the full 150cm width, including the very edge, without feeling like you'll roll off.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and the UK double has started to feel like a compromise, you and your partner keep different hours and want movement on one side to stay on that side, or one of you is tall enough that the extra length matters as much as the width. A dog who considers the bed partly theirs is another common reason people land here.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum for a UK king, or you sleep alone and the width would go unused. In either case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which keeps the same medium firm feel in a smaller footprint.

Is the Emma Original Classic in a UK king good for couples?
Yes, and it's arguably the size this mattress makes most sense in for two. You get 75cm each for two people sharing, the foam comfort layers soak up movement from a restless partner, and the 5-zone springs support each side independently. Lightweight side sleepers may still find the medium firm tension a touch firm, whatever the size.
Will the Emma Original king reduce partner disturbance?
It helps in two ways. The extra width means you're less likely to be jostled in the first place, and the foam-forward construction absorbs movement rather than transferring it, so someone getting up early for a shift is felt far less on the other side. It's a quieter surface than a traditional sprung mattress in the same size.
What room size do I need for the Emma Original in a UK king?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with something closer to 3.2m x 3.2m feeling comfortable once wardrobes and bedside tables are in. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they look on a floor plan, so measure with furniture in mind before committing to the 150 x 200cm footprint.
Is the UK king Emma Original long enough for tall sleepers?
At 200cm long, it suits most people up to and around six foot comfortably, and the extra length over the UK double is often the real reason taller sleepers upgrade. If height is your only concern, remember the UK super king shares the same 200cm length; the king gives you it in a narrower footprint.
How much wider is the Emma Original king than the double?
The UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double, taking the sleep surface to 150cm across. That sounds modest on paper, but split between two people it's the difference between sleeping shoulder to shoulder and each having space to shift position freely.
