Emma cover
A cover that's gentle on your skin and completely removable. It machine washes at 40°C, which means keeping the sleep surface fresh is genuinely easy.
MemoryAdapt Foam
This enhanced foam moulds to your body's unique shape and distributes your weight evenly. In practice, that eases pressure points and keeps you comfortably supported.
Soft foam layer
An upgraded soft foam that gently adapts to your body from the very first moment. It helps ease pressure points and makes it easier to settle into a comfortable position.
SupportBase
SupportBase cushions your body and eases strain on sensitive pressure points. It also creates a smooth transition to the core layers, so you shouldn't feel any abrupt change in firmness as you sink in.
Spring system
The springs are divided into 5 targeted zones that adapt to you head-to-toe. A new comfort foam edge improves support towards the sides of the mattress.
Bottom cover
This layer anchors the mattress and grips your bed frame. That means less sliding about when you change the sheets or shift position at night.
Layer details from emma-sleep.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Real distance from a fidgeting partner: With 90cm each for two people sharing, most of the night's tossing and turning happens too far away to wake you.
- Foam that keeps movement local: The MemoryAdapt Foam moulds to each sleeper individually, which means one person shifting position doesn't ripple across to the other side.
- Room for the whole household: When children climb in at 3am or the dog claims a corner, 180cm of width means the adults still get a proper share.
- Support that holds across the full width: The 5-zone spring system and comfort foam edge run right to the sides, so someone sleeping near the border isn't perched on a soft spot.
- A fit for larger bedrooms: In a big master where a UK king looks undersized, the super king fills the space properly; we suggest allowing at least 3m x 2.9m.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and one of you sleeps restlessly, so extra distance matters more than any comfort layer. Or your children or pets treat your bed as theirs, and you'd rather budge up than argue at 3am. It also makes sense if you have a large master bedroom, ideally around 3.5m x 3.2m, where a UK king would leave the room feeling half furnished.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 3m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum, or you mostly sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK king instead: you keep the same 200cm length in a footprint far more rooms can take.

Is the Emma Original super king big enough for a family sharing the bed?
It's the most practical size for it. At 180cm wide, two adults have 90cm each, so when a child wanders in during the night there's usually enough spare width to absorb them. The foam surface also keeps a small sleeper's wriggling from travelling across the mattress, which helps everyone drop back off.
How much wider is the Emma Original super king than the UK king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, with both sharing the same 200cm length. That extra width is the difference between sleeping close together by default and having genuine personal space, which matters most if one of you moves around a lot at night.
Is the Emma Original super king a good choice for restless sleepers?
Yes, arguably the best pairing of size and construction Emma offers. Distance is the most reliable fix for a restless partner, and 90cm each for two people sharing provides plenty of it. On top of that, the foam layers absorb movement rather than bouncing it around, so what fidgeting remains is easier to sleep through.
Can you wash the super king Emma Original cover in a home machine?
The cover is fully removable and machine washable at 40°C, but at this size it's a lot of fabric. Emma doesn't publish guidance on the drum capacity you'd need, so if your machine is on the smaller side, check before buying or plan on a trip to a launderette with larger machines.
Where can I buy the Emma Original in a UK super king?
Compare the retailers listed on this page. The prices shown here are updated as retailers change them, so it's worth checking back rather than assuming Emma's own site is cheapest; larger sizes like the super king are often where third-party discounts make the biggest difference.
