Layer Details
- British wool. A layer of British wool creates a plush, sumptuous sleeping surface. Wool also regulates temperature naturally, which means you're less likely to wake up clammy.
- Cotton, hemp and flax blend. A blend of cotton, hemp and flax wicks moisture away from your body. In practice, that keeps the mattress feeling fresher for longer.
- Hemp and Ecotex fibres. Hard-wearing hemp and strong Ecotex fibres complete the comfort layers. These add durability, which means the surface should hold its shape over time.
- Micro springs. Layers of 2500 micro springs sit beneath the fillings, adding gentle bounce. They adapt to your body, which means a more responsive feel than fillings alone.
- Pocket springs. The base layer holds 1000 Cortec Quad Revolution pocket springs. Each spring moves independently, which means support where you need it and less disturbance from a restless partner.

- 75cm each for couples: Two sharers each get 75cm of width, which means you can change position without negotiating for territory in the middle of the night.
- Less partner disturbance: Independent pocket springs absorb movement locally, so at this width an early alarm on one side is far less likely to wake the other.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a genuine relief if either of you is approaching six foot.
- Natural fillings across a bigger surface: British wool, cotton, hemp and flax wick moisture across the full 150cm width, so two warm bodies are less likely to make the bed feel clammy.
- Room for the dog too: If a pet claims a corner every night, the step up from a UK double gives it space without squeezing either sleeper.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and have outgrown the UK double, especially if you keep different hours and want the one who gets up first to slip out unnoticed. It also suits couples where one of you is tall enough to find 190cm beds a little short, since the UK king's 200cm length solves that quietly. Just check your room can spare at least 2.7m x 2.9m.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and still offers this same firm pocket spring build.

Is a UK king big enough for a couple on this mattress?
Yes, comfortably for most couples. The UK king gives 75cm of width each for two people sharing, and the 1000 pocket springs plus 2500 micro springs respond to each sleeper separately. If one of you sprawls, or a dog shares the bed most nights, the UK super king adds another 30cm of width.
What room size do I need for the Bronze 3500 in a UK king?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with 3.2m x 3.2m feeling comfortable once wardrobes and bedside tables are in. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they first appear, so measure the floor space that remains after fitted furniture before committing to this size.
How much bigger is the UK king than the double for this mattress?
The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double. The width is what most couples notice first, but the extra length matters if either of you is tall, since 200cm gives feet room that a 190cm bed doesn't. In imperial terms, the UK king is 5ft x 6ft 6in.
Will a UK king reduce partner disturbance on a pocket spring mattress?
It helps on two fronts. The extra width over a UK double means fewer accidental collisions, and the independent pocket springs stop movement travelling across the bed. If your schedules differ, one of you leaving hours before the other, that combination makes the early exit much easier to sleep through.
Should I size up to the UK super king instead?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, though the two are the same length, so tall sleepers gain nothing there. We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m of room for the UK super king. If your bedroom meets that and you both like space, it's a reasonable step up; otherwise the UK king is the sensible pick.
